yeah, $1500 off is pretty solid. it's also dependent on color combination and specific options.

these cars were moving really well all summer and in early fall, with dealers not budging on asking full MSRP. the market has softened some (time of year, and economy) which has changed things somewhat.

Thanks for the reply. I thought this wasn't bad from what I had seen several months back. However, it does appear the market has softened. This particular car has been on the dealers lot since Dec 07 and he currently has 4 335 sedans out. Seems like I might be able to do better since that is what they offered with no negotiating.

sedans should go for close to invoice, I paid 400 over invoice a year ago...they've also had the car for over 90 days and its the end of the month so they should deal!

Thanks for the offer but I am selling my 997S through the dealership here so I can get the tax savings.

what is the best way to figure out the invoice price? i have looked at several different websites and come up with prices that are about a 1000 apart. which one is the real invoice?

$5K is very, very surprising. it's my experience that dealers don't have close to $5K of profit in the car from the start. they must have been really itching to get that '07 off the lot.

If it was a color I liked and had the sport package I may have bought it.

Why are you getting rid of the P-car? Practicality reasons?

You should be getting a better deal on a sedan though, of course that's dependent on various conditions such as the dealer, area, and options.

ok, that discount makes more sense now. a 335 with no sport package is a turnoff for many buyers.

Lots of reasons with practicality being one of them. Dont get me wrong it is a great car but it just doesnt do alot for me. I am 6'4" and getting in and out isn't that easy and the ride not that great (I know it is a sports car).

But mostly it has to do with the image and perception of driving such a car. I am in a business where if people think you are doing well (ie expensive car) they assume you don't need anymore business.

So lots of reasons but mostly just ready for a change.

Shoot ACBimmber a PM. He's great to work with.

I think you can do better on a sedan. For a coupe, that'd be okay.
