Plan on Buying 09 M3 Sedan w/smg

I was at the dealership last week and had a blast test driving this car. I would like to get some other input from current owners. This will be my daily car.

Cheers.

I have a 335I sedan and have also test driven the M3 sedan and man does that put my 335 to shame. I think it would make for a great DD. As for SMG I think it’s one of the best, shifts so quick…

Oops I too forgot that BMW changed the name for the new M3 transmission as its now a double clutch. But doesn’t only the coupe and convertible come with DCT and the Sedan comes with DKG correct me if I’m wrong as I would like to know.

just curious, i too drove the dct and found it quite amazing, but found the manual more involving and fun, like i felt the car more...am i alone, on preferring the manual over the amazing dct (i too agree its amazing, but too me it just felt fast, nothing more)/

M-Driving Experience

Definitely get the DCT. I drove one at the Performance Center Delivery yesterday at the M-Driving Experience.

After purchasing your new M, dont forget to register for your free M-Driving Experience class. You'll drive the M5, M6, and M3 on road courses.

Pssst, I saw the new BMW X5M at the test track while I was at the M-driving experience.

one of my friends just got one a few months back... DCT is definitely better performance wise... i lean towards the manual because it's more fun... but DCT is the real deal. gl with the car! it's an ideal DD.

DCT = DKG or whatever people call it. why would they put different tranny on the same cars?

SMG is not longer being produced? because the last time I checked M-DCT is a $3000 option.....and DCT has been in Audis & VWs a long time.....its nice but nothing really special about it ...
