New M3

I just took delivery of a 2010 M3 Coupe. Any recommended modifications? Daily driver and occasional track use.

Thanks!

New set of rims and rubber will do you good, Stage 2 Turner ECU upgrade will give you +40 hp +32 ft-lbs and bring ur RPM limit to 8600. New Exhaust, E9X intake will give you +15hp and +13 ft lbs so for about 6G you can get 55hp gain and 45 ft-lb. Here is a good setup they have turnermotorsport.com/html/project_e90m3.shtml btw i have no affiliation with Turner Motor sports just a good company.

I wouldn't mess with any tune that raises the rev limit since it'll let BMW know you have a tune on the car.

Do you have EDC and is it important to you? There's a lot of body roll and coilovers would be a good start. Also, a short shifter kit would be good too.

You'll get the most power from a cat delete or at least a HFC but they seem to set off check engine lights. You can get rid of that, AND optimize your power output, with a tune. Someone has a link with with a modified stock exhaust and it sounds pretty sick.

Thanks for the input. The car did not have EDC. I would have ordered it, but by taking a '10 off the lot I got $5k off sticker.

The car will be my DD with some track time. I am afraid to mess with the ECU under warranty. I guess that the stock suspension set up may be too soft, but coil-overs may be too stiff for the street. Although they would look great! I will check out Turner to see if they have a middle ground set up.

Thanks

I have had my E92 for 2 years now....it is a DD except in the snow and has seen trackdays.

This is a list of things I've done that I am happy with.
  1. BBS CH's Powdercoated Black 18x10 18x9.5 w/Toyo R888(Track).
  2. Fabspeed HFC 200 cel...w/X-Pipe Resonator delete...The CEL was addressed by extenders to the CO2 sensors....it seems to be working.
  3. BMC Drop in Filters
  4. H&R Springs
  5. Pads(Hawk)...Motul Fluid...SS Brake lines. Stock rotors/calipers.
I have not done a tune as of yet for warranty issues....as they can & will find out....dont need the hassle right now.
As far as Turner Motorsports go....my E36 M3 track car was pretty much built by them so I have nothing but good things to say about their product and expertise.
My suggestion is that you give it 6 months and one track day....bone stock to see what YOU like and dislike and go from there.
Enjoy it!

BTW is the GT3 still for sale...I am in the market for one. If so PM me please. Thanks

If you are looking for additional HP, TQ and sound, then go with our High Flow 200 cell Sport Cats to make an additional 20+ HP and 12+ Ft Lbs of Torque. It all complies with emissions and NO check engine lights. Let me know if you have any questions and Happy Holidays.

Alex that is not entirely true....I had the CEL thrown on my E92 w/ your full set-up...NO Tune.....and you sent us extenders for the 02sensors and that seems to have addressed the issue.
Other than that I am 100% happy with the Fit/Finish/Sound/Gains made by the system...and this is with stock cans.
Regards
S

Thanks for the feedback MCars, you are correct about the 02 extenders. We now include them with the full kits to eliminate the light from coming on.
But yes you do need to have catalytic converters on the car to pass emissions and inspection, in addition to not getting a CE light. Our kit will fully comply with emissions and warranty.
Thanks and let me know if you have any questions. Happy New year everyone.
