M alive

Not to sell Porsche short but in my mind BMW makes such a great all around daily driver that is still a blast(with the right mods) to drive and is practical as well. I needed something to balance the 2 seaters and this sweetheart does the trick.
This is a Dinan S2(fully adj JRZ coilovers, strut and sway bars, lgwt cluth/flywheel, larger tbodies, mass air flow meter, reworked ecu, cf cai, tuned exhaust with Eisenmann mid and crossover pipes) car with 3.91 gears, brembo bbk, Dinan lightweight wheels with 275's up front and 285 rears. Handles beautifully for a sedan and still hauls lots of gear when needed.

All is good, thanks. Have not sold the 360 yet as I am waiting on a new alarm module. Since the part is part of the starting system, Ferrari is really paranoid about ownership documentation so the part takes a while to obtain. Once its done, the car will sell quickly as there are several people who have been eyeballing her.

HOws the 2 treating you. I took my bastard child 3.8 out for a couple of long drives recently, much to the sheer and undiminished delight of my go pedal senses. Damn that car is fast!

i agree the M3 is such a great fun car and good for daily driving, but you NEED the mods to make it fun. short of a porsche, ferrari, or lambo its prob the most fun you can have with all the mods that you or i have.

I love my M3 so much. Shes in the shop having Inspection II done right now...Valves adjusted, oil change, brake oil change, new pads, among many other things. Even having a few interior wear n tear items replaced- like all the speakers I've blown out!

Beautiful car! I too love the Dinan rims.

I still have a hard time deciding between the E46 M3 and E39 M5.

Can you ellaborate a bit on this? I think our 550 may have the same problem. There are a few quirky things that are definately not right-- the LED stays lit while driving; when disarming the car while the key is in the ignition before start-up (prior to the "check ok" light), the alarm will start to go off; and just today at starbucks I locked the car and the alarm started to go off a few minutes later-- but the alarm sequence was almost completely random!

Can you comment on the symptoms your 360 had and what exactly you are replacing? Thanks!

Alex, I am with you on that dilemna. I love the torque of the m5 and the space but in the end, for my roads, the m3 is a better choice as the 5 is just too heavy. But I live in the coastal mountains and there are a lot of tight wonderful roads but few freeways or long sweepers that would favor the M5. Can't really go wrong, eh?

Joey,
well right about the time I decided to trade up for a stradale (of course!) the car would be hard to sequence to full start mode. Then it would start, run normally and it would seem all was right. Fast and fun as usual, UNTIl I stopped. Then it would not restart and would require 15-20 minutes. Then it would restart and everything would be fine. Apparently its a fairly common problem. Not sure if the symptons vary much but your description sounds like it could be the same thing.
I never, in over two years of 360 ownership, had any problems so the timing sucks, but the car is wonderful otherwise!
Good luck with your problem.

You know, we ALWAYS pour money into a car before it's sold... usually a few days after new tires are put on or an SSK. Murphy's Law I suppose!

So what did you end up having to replace on your 360? The entire alarm system? I don't even want to ask how much...

Well, we are still waiting for parts and a couple of buyers are waiting also!
I think it is just going to be the alarm module and it should not be too bad. I have over two years of pleasure from the car with no mechanical issues except expected maintanance so I can not complain about anything except the timing! Great car, hope it ends up in good hands.

Had a couple of long mountain romps in the M recently. LOve the JRZ suspension and the color combo on the car continues to thrill me. Love the overall package. Say what you will about Dinan, they do put together a nice package.
