buying an M5! Need mod help!

Since I have decided I am not going to keep the SRT8 after it is fixed, I have committed to buying a 2006 BMW M5 Black on Black. I will be picking it up on Monday, and I had some questions for you modders out there!

1. Do any of you run the K and N intake system for it? What do you think of this part?

2. If I kept the stock muffler, but ran the Section 1 and 2 Eisenhaus pipes that remove the resonators, how would the car sound? I will eventually do a rear muffler too, but I am modding on a budget so that comes later!

3. Anyone have pics of an M5 with OZ Ultraleggera's on it? I think I am going to go with these because they are 1 piece and light. No lip, but I think that I am starting to get sick of lipped wheels.

4. How hard is installing the H&R Springs? How long does it take???

5. How much am I going to love it!

I am super excited! I have never owned a BMW nor had much time in the driver's seat in Beemers. I have driven E36 and 46 M3's and E39 M5's in the M series, but when I drove the E60 M5, I was so amazed at the versatility. it handles great, rides great, and has great power. I think I will really enjoy this car. It is going to be murdered out just as much as the jeep was, so I am stoked to get to start modding a car from scratch again!

Yup, i have seriously been thinking about one, i want to see if they start offering any good leases on them just before the new year. What warranty do they offer on them?

It's a perfect DD, i would worry in my case (only car) whether i would miss having a smaller sports car.

1.im not sure about this ,i hear some peopel remove the charcoal filters ? i remembr hearing my freind doing that on his...

2.it wont make THAT much of a diff .. my advise is if ur modding on abudhet take ur time and do one thing at a time and do it right the first time.. same gos with the suspesnion mod DONT do springs only wait it out and get a nice coilover system.

i think ur going to love it especialy modded . christ just the way they sound witha full exaust....listen to the clip on here somewhere.

some of my friends have installed h & r springs on the m5 and i know they are hard to put in .....have it done in a reputable shop if your gonna go that route. Not worth the trouble imo.

i dont think coilovers are necessary, but if you do springs make sure you do aftermarket shocks as well. if youre gonna track it A LOT, then do coilovers.
