My Move for More Power
My Move for More Power
I am the proud former owner of the RINSPEED Imola Cayman S. Many of you have probably seen the pictures of the car in this forum or have seen it personally at the various Southern California auto shows where I exhibited the car. I also ran the Targa Trophy in the car.

In my opinion, my Cayman S is the cleanest Cayman in the US. From the front, it looks like the 997 TT. From the back, it looks like a tank -- it has quad exhaust and 325s. It is huge. My car is also a head turner; its stance is nice, it has been properly maintained (thanks Moe for the Xymol), and it is a great run a round car.
The car handled like a gazelle in the curves; it was very light in my mountain runs. It could take on and beat probably everything out there on the twisties.
I used the car as my daily driver; in a word, I describe its performance as "reliable." The car gave me absolutely no problems (I did all of the regular oil changes at my dealer. The RINSPEED kit and accessories were installed by the Speed Gallery.)
The only thing the car lacked was power. I would have never noticed the lack of power (I have not tracked the car like I did with my TT G35), but for my participation in the Targa Trophy. I got smoked off the line, rolling start, top end speed by all of the exotics in that event. I recognized that the Cayman was not intended to go against F430s, Lambos etc. But, it really got on my nerves when I caught up to a F-Car, doing some high numbers, only for that F-Car to disappear into the vapors in a blink of an eye.
Thus, I am making the move for more power. The Cayman S is up for sale (and will likely be sold tomorrow) and I am about ready to accept delivery of a TT this week. (I did substantial research, test drive, etc. before concluding a TT meets all of my needs; it may not be for everyone. My wife also agreed to the decision so here I go with another FI car; I hope I don't blow the engine on this one.)

No, been there done that; will only go with OEM installed TT.
I blew my last experiment into FI after market on my G35; below a hole in the block.

The P-Car is used only for rally runs; and will be used once I go to P-Car driving school.
It is going Local; nothing is done yet. It is one clean Cayman S -- it has the full IMOLA RINSPEED Package (lowering springs, rims, etc.); it also has the GIAC flash -- all work done by the Speed Gallery
