Searching for wheels for the S

I am looking to get some aftermarket wheels for the S after winter.
I've been looking around and found a few.

I've looked at HRE, Techart, BBS, and many more but haven't really settled on any yet.

My Z was running 305s in the back and 255s in the front and a 5 1/2" lip in the rear.

What's the widest tire that can fit on the S both front and back?

I am not too familiar with the offsets for this car, since on my Z I would run low 20s on offset, so I am still trying to adapt to the Boxster's offsets.

I would really like to get 5-6" in lip for the rear and hopefully run 305s in the rear. I've been spoiled with big lips from previous cars, and would be hard to settle for anything under 4" for the back, really prefer to be in the 5" + for lip.

295's in the rear and you will need to max the camber out with either coilovers or spherical ball shock mounts. 10.5 x 18 is the largest wheel I've heard of. All this assumes no bodywork.

My 2000S has 10.5x18 et40 wheels in the rear, 8.5x18et50 in the front.

BTW, good luck getting a 3" lip.

KINGS POWER:
I started noticing this when looking around for wheels which mostly all fell in 2 1/2" to 3" lip.

Bruinbro:
Thanks for the great info!
Are you running 295 on your 10.5?
Do you have any pics of your car with wheels, I just wanna see how those offsets look on it.

Yeah, I'm currently running 295/30 and 235/40 MPSCs. The pics are with 285 and 235 Dunlop SSRs which run about a size wider than specified.

Did you go with coilovers or spherical ball shock mounts?
Or do you not need them if you go with a 275 or 285 tire?

JIC coilovers. I would think a 275 would fit without the need for max negative camber, but definitely the 285's will need it to prevent fender lip rubbing when the shock/spring is compressed. The rubbing issue is also (obviously) a function of how lowered the car is.

I have a set that might interest you. Not crazy big lips - but high quality.

OZ SL III's Black centers/polished lips.

Never been on a car. They were a display set so they are not perfect - but almost perfect.

$2750 + actual shipping to Cali from Seattle. From Tire Rack they would be over $3900!

Shoot me a PM if you're interested. I can have folks from the PacNW vouch for me and I'm also a Community Organizer on S2ki.com

Those are nice wheels, although I was looking at more of a gunmetal finish and not something that dark.
But other than that, I love the design of those OZs.

Thanks. I have a set of iForged Aeros on order. Couldn't resist the 3" lip and black centers.

GL on your search!

I'll let you know if I change my mind and go with OZ.

I also like the Work RPM. I think it would look nice on the S.
