Talking Do you miss affordable Alcantara?

It's been widely talked about how Porsche has nearly tripled the cost of their Alcantara steering wheels the past couple months. They now retail for $853 (our current dealer cost is $682!!).

But, we have a little treat for those that may be interested.

We have a very limited quantity of 996/986/993 Alcantara steering wheels, 3-spoke with blue stitching for $549 + free ship CONUS to the 6speed members.

These are brand new factory steering wheels from Porsche, not returned or refurbished. Again, this is 3-spoke, blue stitching. So if you have a 4 spoke, you'll need a new airbag.

We also have the matching alcantara/blue-stiching shift ***** in stock which are on sale for $149!

So if you are interested, throw me a PM, email, or a phone call.

I got a steering wheel and shift know from Suncoast a couple of months ago - and then it all started. I didn't like the non-alcantara airbag and I had a small crack in my dash pod, so I started looking for someone who could finish the job. That lead to door trim, center console lid, handbrake, and finally seats - all with the contrasting red stitching. I am attching a few pics (sorry, I don't know how to post images yet). At any rate, thanks to Rich and Famous Auto Tops in Van Nuys (www.richandfamousautotops.com). VERY reasonable prices and John and Reuben were very willing to do exactly what I wanted.

That Alcantra/Ultrasuede looks so plush... really softens up the look of a leather interior. Seems like it would look good if the top of the dash was done too. ;o)

Think I'm going to try doing a bunch of pieces of the interior.
A combo of painted parts and ultrsuede/alcanta could look really nice. Hmmm.... Ebay here I come.

Man, now you come out with that! I swaped my 3 spoke and air bag out for a new airbag and round GT3 wheel. MUCH better than the stock offerings.

We were expecting the price to increase for a little while. Eslai from Cayman Club pointed out:

I see they caught on!
Don't worry though, we're working on something here for you Alcantara lovers. Hopefully I'll have good news for you in the next couple months.
