Stick with your current steering wheel, the 997/987 version is somewhat of a downgrade as for looks.

Thanks. I don't mind the new wheel and the wife likes it too.

Not without an adapter. If you find one, let me know. Also, the Airbag-connectors are different. The 997 / Cayman / 987 has a two-stage airbag which isn't that much of a problem, but the connector is different.

Not a big fan of the circular airbags:

But these look good:

Edit: And the thread is almost three years old... Sorry! But still, if anyone knows of an adapter..?

Thklinge

you can buy a whole new wheel that comes with an airbag in a 330 mm size as another option . I was at Max RPm yesterday and they had 2 996 cars in the showroom with these really awsome looking steering wheels on them . They had CF trim and looked fantastic.

old thread but here it goes in case somebody is thinking about this and searching the forums. Supposedly, there are adapters that might fit.

Nice! I've been looking for a solution for this. I have a 6 speed, so tiptronic buttons/paddles aren't an issue, and I also don't really care about multifunction buttons. All I need is for it to bolt up to the steering column.

Air bag connections.

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if anyone completed a swap on here and what solution other than deleting the airbag people came up with? Did you build your own harness? Was it a case of removing the plugs and creating your own? Any contribution appreciated. Cheers
