what do you guys think of trading my CS for a 2.7 ? I found a Guy that will trade me my CS for his 2007 2.7 that is black on black with 10K Miles sport Chrono Basically Fully Loaded ,Sticker shows $57,356.00 it has been Lowered H&R (No Coil Overs) I can Take my 19" wheels,Rear View Mirrors,Rear Tail Lights,and he will switch the Exhaust out so I can Keep the Remus and (You guys will hate this) he will Put the GT graphics on it as well. The 2.7 Has painted Calipers aready (Red) I will Paint another Color( im not Into Re-naming it as an S ) Ha Ha .I just think the CS is too much car for me Really ,This is my First Porsche . he wants 50K for his car so he said he would trade me cars and 13K cash .I could do another loan at the bank and basically finance all but 25K Or 30K and Get 25K Cash Back .so that would give me 40K to start a Business? what do you think? Am I on The right track? FYI hotters girl kicked me out of the house a couple days ago so I had to move out .My Brother is a Builder and has a 1.9 Mill home In ladera Ranch CA that is vacant so I can live there for FREE untill it sells.with the housing market In Calif In the Tanker that could be Quite some time . Opinions?

The Porsche is a great car to have to park in front of the detail Business and My self esteem is in the tanker.Already have a location scoped out My other brother owns a commercial Building and said I could set up shop On the side of the Building with Just some tent like Canopy he rents most of the Building so I would have INSTANT business to all his tenants!! and my Dad is in support of me

 

You need to sit down and actually think about what you want to do. If you want to set up a business you realize you have to apply with the state. You get paid, the state wants it's tax money.

While I was a little negative to you in your previous posts, I think the biggest thing you need to do is slow down and think. Plan out what you want to do and maybe calculate all the costs that are associated with it.

You just bought your CS. You realize now it might be too much money. Is going into a Boxster really gonna help you that much? If I went to a detail shop, I don't really care if it's a Porsche up front or a Chevy. Just make sure the car looks awesome and business will take care of itself.

It's a Cayman 2.7 not a Boxster.Well I sincerely appreciate your advise ,I am kinda a fast moover when I put my mind to something I get all in. I have all the Equiptment already from when we owned the car washes.We also had outside detail trucks so I kept a 300 gallon water tank ,High pressure washer,Diionized treatement tanks,and all the detail stuff that would last a 1/2 year so my start up is really nothing .I can already use a UBI/Business License # we already have.I Dont have any Bills and Free rent so a $350.00 car payment is nothing and I will have close to 35 40K in Reserves.Hooter Girl is going to pay me 1/3 of the Equity in the home we had so I will get about 50K in another week or so.hey how many of you on this site have a $350.00 car payment, No other Bills ,Single ,and have 90K liquid cash in the bank? oh and live in a 1.9 Million dollar house RENT FREE?

 

Im sorry, but your string of threads are so difficult to read, and unbelievable...I cannot tell what the hell is real anymore. If this whole thing is completely serious, I actually feel bad for you.

I believe I will make 6k a month Easily ,My other Brother had a similar Business before he did mortgages and made over 100K per year detailing Cars ,Boats and Planes.hey at least I am not being stupid and going to Vegas.Thanks to you all so I think I will do the Swap .what the heck I dont care so much about having the fastest car,Cayman just looks great thats enough for me.

Ok, well... I have well over 90k in the bank. I paid off my LE Boxster S with cash.. so no car payment. I own my own house even though I do have a mortgage. But I write off the interest and taxes like most people. I have equity in my family's business and my own operation in Shanghai, China.

If what you are saying is true, well.. why don't you keep ur CS? If you have no bills and live for free. You should still have enough cash for a CS. Start your business if you have everything ready. Seems like you have no overhead. But in my opinion, you have to get into the real world.

Do you really want to live off your brother? It's great he has a place for you to stay, but at 36 do you really want to not have your own home? You said you do things kinda fast, but to have a successful business you have to plan. Think things through all the way. What are you costs? You hiring anyone else? How many clients do you have to do per day to make a profit, etc...

you financed the car? it's not paid in full?

if so, when you "trade" cars, you'll be paying off your loan and getting a new one for his car, so no you can't just take the difference and keep 15-25k for your business... you don't have that money, the bank does...


and you expect to make 6k a month in your own startup detailing company?

I only Financed $17,000.00 !!! Maybe you should get an education . I Really dont think any of you really get it here .This is a great oportunity for me my family is trying to help out and all you can do is be sarcastic and negative. with close to 90K 1 car payment and all the support from my family and trust me they have more $$$ then you will ever know .Its about the effort here , me going in 100% working my butt off and making something out of nothing.I dont know why i even come on this forum any longer .Bunch of pessimestic drainholes.Life is not all about $$$ ya know ya got to take some risks ..I dont think I am comming back to this forum .. can the administrator PLEASE delete my user .Thanks and good luck to you all .BYE

I didn't feel like I was being negative or pessimistic. I just wanted to give you some advice and plan things out fully. Crunch some numbers. I know you said you had all the supplies ready for 1/2 a year. You can put up a tent outside your brother's building. But when your supplies run out, how much do you have to allocate for the supplies. You also talked before about hiring a tint guy or something. Really, I was just trying to help you out... Do a break even anaylysis at least so you know how much to charge and how many customers you'd need to average in a week/month. This is all just basic business.

I even told you to keep your CS. I don't know you. What you do with your life or your car is your business. Like I said before... Good luck with whatever you're trying to do.
