Sounds like a great idea to me. Congratulations and I am jealous! As soon as I can swing it, I plan on having my CS TPC'd.

Tuned in!

Hope to hear greatness from the planned install!
Are you planning use some of the money you saved by not buying the "S" and use it to make your car even more powerfull than the "S"?

If so what do you plan to do with the other $3000 you saved? Tires? Track time? Brakes? A vacation maybe? Ahh yess of course more mods!

Isn't that a bit unfair to the guys in the "S"? How can you live with yourself knowing the disapointment in their eyes as the cheeper, lighter, higher MPG, better residual value "base model" spanks their "S".

2007 Cayman...non S
16,000 smiles, since 12-4-07

I have already done those mods you mentioned plus many more so my car is ready to bring it on maybe I should put a big 2.7 liter badge on it ?
after researching all options from dropping a 911 engine and trading up to a 3.4 the TPC was the logical choice . also my curiosity has me wondering what the 2.7 with a TPC will produce . Could be the monster all us 2.7 liter owners have been wanting

displacement

i was thinking of the cylinder wall thickness, the piston size, the compression ratio, things that i do not know about these engines; wondering if the smaller engine is at all 'over-built' and better able to cope with boost.

porschepet, could you elaborate on the reason you believe the tpc turbo is the logical choice after your research (which included trading to a 3.4)? i'm curious as i'm also seriously considering doing the same (going with the tpc turbo for my 2.7).
