2000 Boxster Purchase Help.....

I found a very nicely optioned 2000 Boxster, non S. I originally had my heart set on an S, but after driving this one, seeing how well taken care of it has been, and all the nice options, I am leaning towards it. How much do you guys think a car like this is worth....

The owner just bought a brand new 2008 RS 60 so this one must go....

that's nicely optioned... the price seems fair from what I've been seeing locally as I'm shopping for a boxster as well.

Would you be the gentleman I spoke to about checking out a car in North Carolina? Anyway, did you end up buying this car? Either way, good luck.

I'm selling a similar Boxster here in VA and to me, that seems like a good price. I would caution you two things: 1) Buy the car soon while it's still cold (at least here in VA it's cold) because the price fluctuates wildly for convertibles from summer to winter; and 2) Get the PPI and check the normal problem areas, specifically the RMS, before you buy. Good luck with your purchase and enjoy!

I'd buy one soon to start enjoying soon, if you find a good deal on one. They're not getting any newer, and they'll likely continue depreciating for some more time to come...

That seems like a fair price for the car, just be sure that you can live with the color!

I looked on ebay for 2000 non-S models and 14.5k seems like a fair asking price. Note that most bids for the year don't go much above $14k. So, you still have some room for negotiation here. You could probably ask the guy to take some money off the registration, since I don't think it's transferable to where you live - so, reg paid to 2011 has no value to you. If you are serious ("cash at hand" or secured financing already) about buying this one (or one similar to it), make an offer on it (and give reasons for your offer - e.g., registration non-transferable). You will also want to do PPI and that the deal is dependent on a clean bill of health, etc.
Mike Focke did an excellent 2-part write up on buying a used Boxster. Take a read through his advice and go from there. Majority of the Boxsters are trouble-free... but just make sure you do the homework before jumping in feet first on a used one. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

A 2000 boxster with those options along with under 50k miles priced at $14k is DEF. a good deal/price! Put a deposit on it and get the PPI done. If it all turns out good, buy it asap!! And yeah that registration good to 2011 has nothing to do with you lol. You pay your own anyway at the DMV with a private sale. Im shopping for a boxster with 70-90k miles in good condition lookin to spend $10-12k...So you found a good deal!
