OK so I'm about to buy a Boxster and here are my choices:

2003 S or
2005 Base non "S"

Both low mileage.....but the older S has more power but the new Boxster has the new interior and body style.

2003 S has 258hp
2005 non S has 240hp


Here is the catch....price is exactly the same.....
What to buy, please help!!!

Why the '05?

 

Some folks will always say newer is better. All things being equal that may be true but things are not always equal thus it becomes a more subjective arguement.

When you are looking at similar prices for different vehicles you have to look at the specific variables and decide which are more important to you. Create a list of criteria and assign points to each in order to try to evaulate the decision more logically. Color, condition, HP, miles, options, wheels, mods, track use, etc.

 

Buy the one you like the best!

 

05 has better looking headlights & waaay nicer interior...

05 for sure. All new design, better looking is worth the 20 horsepower easily.

 

the '05. If your desperate for some more power than had it mod wise.

No one on the road will care whether you have a 986 or 987. Whichever is more fun to drive and lights your soul is the one to buy.

'03 IMHO. I'd get the S version.

I had an 05 for a few months. Tons of fun. Plus I don't think the 03 986 can let you put the top down wihile you're driving. Its a really zippy car, I don't think you'd regret taking the 05 over the 03. Just make sure its what you want.

 

You can but getting it to come back up...
