Interior size of a Boxster?

Hi All,

I continue to think abour purchasing a Boxster due to the great grip and feel from the mid engine design when I drive them. As a datapoint, I would be coming from a a 1991 500SL that has been a great car (214K miles and still going strong) so that is the basis for my Interior size question.

I have a concern which centers on the interior size of these vehicles and long term comfort for the drivers and passengers. I am 6'1 and about 220 (on a good day ) .

When I have driven Boxsters, I feel like I am in very close confines in the footwell and shoulder / backrest of the seat. I understand this is the design of the car but I would like to hear input from owners as to any issues / concerns / satisfaction they may experience from the interior size.

BTW...I would use this car several times a week and would like to take it on trips but I also have another vehicle for more of my DD needs.

Thanks for your input!

David

I am close in size and have adaptable seats. 6 and 220 with longer than average legs.

I am not all the way back on the seat adjustment, but not much extra room ether.

While it is a tight car I find it fine for up to 3 to 4 hour drive. If the road has a lot of turns the trip seems shorter; in fact, never long enough.

I am 6'2" and my issue is the windshield frame seeming to be low... I did have a 1999 Porsche 996 which is similar in design to my 2000 Boxster that did not seem to have this issue. The seat room is okay but I always feel I have to scrunch down to see traffic lights... LOL

I'm 6'2 190lbs and I have this problem as well, however if you compare this to any other car, the Boxster's windsheild is quite upright which is what I prefer.

The point is, how is your view of the road.

I have never has a sports car in which I could easily see traffic lights, except of course the Boxster and a past S2000 when the tops are down.

I'm 6'2"+ and about 235 pounds and I fit just fine in my wife's new Boxster. I agree about the windscreen being a bit low, but I guess I'm used to it from other convertibles I've had (TT Roadster, M Roadster).

Only problem at 5'10 and 220 is the seats. Put in 8 way electric sport seats from a 911 and while comfortable the sides of the bottom don;t really fit MY bottom.
