iPhone mount for 987

Just traded my C4S (with PCM) for a Boxster with a radio. Would like to conveniently mount my iPhone for Nav and stereo input and am looking for a mount that does not require drilling holes and does not attach to the windshield. Any ideas?

I'm curious to know as well.. I've seen the cheap mounts on eBay but am a little skeptical of how well they work.

Hey guys,

I made my own from carbon fibre. Mounts without any screws as well.

Not caring about the mount for a second, how is everyone hooking up the iPhone to the stock stereo?

Dension? I had an IceLink in my s4 and it worked very well.

As you can see, not using stock head unit.... I believe there is something you can buy to connect an iphone to the stock becker unit, but it costs about as much as a new headunit - so up to you!

I installed the alpine dpr-rds1 and I'm happy with it.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I would want something hard wired, not FM transmitted.

The Gateway 500 seems to be what most are using, but it seems pricey. IIRC, my Dension for my s4 was $150ish (I think).

iPhone installation & mount

As I said above, the ProClip is the best I've found. As for integrating the iPod/iPhone with the stock audio system, I recently installed the Dension Gateway 500 in my 2007 Cayman S (CDR24 with Bose, no CD changer and no PCM) and I'm very happy with it. I wrote a detailed article with pictures on Planet 9 about the installation - here's the linK: http://www.planet-9.com/reviews/elec...uxrevised.html

Chris, I read your article, it was very detailed. It isn't something I'm too excited to tackle myself after reading about the difficulties you encountered.

Seems like a lot of work and a decent chunk of change to add something so simple (again comparing it to my s4, which I probably shouldn't do). I dunno, maybe I'm just being lazy about it; I rarely listen to the radio as it is (mainly because the radio quality and content sucks), but I'd probably listen to my iphone much more.
