Crossing over from the 'other' side

Becoming disillusioned with the direction of BMW and ditched my 128i for:

Have yet to take the Cayman out for a flogging at the track, but from what I can tell during a spirited run in the back roads, the car is well balanced and has a nice mid-range pull.

Yup, I'll be at the POC event at Streets next week; in fact I posted a response to one of your threads. I'll be sure to come find you and say hi.

How is the POC different from the PCA? I've enjoyed the SD PCA events (tour and auto-x)...what am I missing with the owner's club?

I honestly can’t speak to running with the PCA. I became involved with the POC out of desperation.

I try to average at least 10-12 track/HPDE days a year with my M3. Typically, the LA BMW club hosts only two track events per year. Over the last six years, I’ve run with most of the popular groups that host events. There are some groups (who will remain nameless) that I refuse to participate with for obvious reasons. With the economy the way it is, some groups I used to run with have gone the way of the Conestoga wagon.

In my opinion, the POC hosts a quality, safe and fun event with their Short Track Series, and are a pleasure to deal with. I run in ‘Exhibition’ class. Everyone at the POC has been gracious and accepting of the Non-Porsche out on the track.

For 2011, the POC is planning 7 (2 day) events. I am committing to running all but 2 this year.

looking forward to meeting all of you at the POC events. I won't be at streets, but will be at the first time trial at big willow in mid february. look into the CSX class, most of the caymans that ran last year with POC in the L class, are moving to the new CSX class and it should be a real fun group with all the caymans running together. congrats on the car, she's gorgeous! PM if you would like me to email you a copy of the class rules.

Having just switched from a 2004 C4S (which was totaled) to a 2007 Cayman S, I can tell you that you're gonna LOVE this car. It's almost as fast as the C4S and handles WAY better!
