Warning Lights Everywhere

This weekend I changed the brake pads on my Boxster. Before I started, I disconnected the battery. After changing all the pads and sensors, I reconnected the battery, and when I turned the car on, every warning light is coming up (abs, psm, wear on brake pads, check engine, and sport mode failure). I was wondering why this was happening and how I can fix this, as I even tried to disconnect and reconnect the battery once more, but got the same result. Also, I know that once the sensors on the pads goes off, the sensors must be replaced when changing the pads, but what if these are brand new pads?? Will i need to replace the sensors again? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Its because you dissconnected the battery ,these warning lights just need to be cleared do you have a duremetrics software ?
You can clear all of them with the basic version .
You do NOT have to relace the sensors unless they are really worn down ,did you drive a long time after the brake light sensor came on in the dash ? if so then yes replace the sensors but most of the time they are fine ,new brake pads should pull the sensor away from activation so replacing the sensor wont get the light off ,next time dont dissconnect the battery and this wont happen ,If you do not have the durametrics software to clear the warning lights ask someone in you area if they do ,otherwise a trip to the dealer is the only way .Is you car under warrenty ? last resort PM me and I will send you the OBD cable ,download the software and clear them send me back my cable

I drove about 2 weeks after the sensor came on just locally, but when I replaced the pads I had replaced the sensors with them anyway.

I'm thinking that when I plugged in the new sensors, I may have accidentally knocked the ABS wire loose and thats what's throwing off the ABS/PSM light. Being that the Sports Chrono adjusts the PSM, maybe thats why I'm getting the check engine light also and thats why when I press the sport button it says Sports mode failure. I'm going to put it back up on jacks tonight to make sure everything is in right and if that doesn't work then I'll bring it in to the dealership and see if they'll clear the lights for me. I'll let you know how it goes tonight.

Figured it out

Turned out that I had accidentally switched the ABS and Pad Sensor wire on the front right wheel. After I switched them back to where they should be the lights went off and everything is running normal again.

Hi, I changed the dashboard and when put the new back the brake and brake tier light came off. Took it to a shop and they said they could not reset the light. Need to change these sensors with new? If so, how? Not a DIY but want to learn.

I'm sorry..I'm not exactly sure what you mean..you changed your dashboard and the brake light came up when you installed the new one? If you replaced pads and sensors, the lights should go off after a few hundred feet of driving the car.

do you still have a lot of pad left? Maybe it is just a coincidence that after you changed the dashboards, one of the sensors tripped on one of your brake pads?

When the pad runs too low, it runs down to the sensor, which shorts the circuit triggering the brake light on the dashboard..if this is the case, you would need to change your pads and sensors.
