First Good Drive in the CR
First Good Drive in the CR
My wife and I took the CAyman R on a run from Birmingham to Charlotte and back for the long Easter Weekend. 860 miles round trip. averaged 63 mph (includes secondary roads to and from the highway, some driving in a detour through Roswell...). The mileage was exactgly 30mpg. I used to do the same run in my 08 CS and averaged 27.5 to 27.8. Not bad for a car with two people in it and frunk and trunk fairly well packed. On top of it.............what a GREAT car to drive.
Wow, that's a long trip! Glad the car was comfy, and the gas mileage is impressive. I'll use that as a justification if someone challenges our having gotten a CR.
I may need to make a long trip this week (11 hours of driving), and have been toying with the idea of taking the CR.

My wife an I also took a trip over the weekend in my Cayman R from Arlington, Virginia to Princeton, New Jersey. The trip was 215 miles each way and we also averaged 30.0 miles per gallon with a packed car. Great to hear Porsche is listing accurate MPG.

I guess it was a great weekend for a drive
I took a friend of mine up to Allentown, PA from Katies cars & coffee in Great Falls, Va to pick up his new Lotus Elise. Do you guys have pdk? I averaged 25.3 with my 6 spd...though I have to admit I was very playful on the way up and even more so coming back and I had the top off the entire time

I have the P77s. I specifically did not want the carbon buckets. I think they are very comfortable once in them but getting in and out regularly as a DD did not match my interest.
I haven't tried the sport buckets, but I like having the regular sport seats. They don't add much weight, they're comfortable, and the greater adjustability is nice.

I had my Cayman R out over the weekend too. I must be doing something wrong - I got less than 9 mpg and melted the adhesive on some wheel weights. But it was certainly fun! And the brake upgrades were awesome!
Of course, it wasn't a long trip. Just 2.25 miles, over and over again.

I have the carbon fiber sport buckets and PDK with Sports Chrono, AC and PCM 3.0 added back in plus a pretty big aftermarket stereo including a separate amp and two JL 8" subs and 6 aftermarket speakers. I love the Sport Bucket sets. In my 2010 Base Cayman I had had the adjustable power seats and I find the Carbon Fiber Sport Bucket Seats a lot more comfortable, I am 5'6" 165 if that matters.

I just got back from a trip to Pahrump, NV, about 340 miles each way.
On the way there I averaged 68mph and 30.2mpg. On the way home, 69mph and 30.4mpg. I'm really pleased with those numbers!
