Buy a Used Cayman or Wait for the 2014? New Member: Possibly a Future Porsche Owner
Hello I'm a new member needing some help from some of the old and new members.
I'll make this quick and short. Please Help!
Buy a used Cayman with a little over 20K miles 2010 or wait for the 2014?
Used? Reliabilty issue? Warranty?
If I am to buy a brand new 2012 or 2013 what is the going rate.
Please help. Will go to the dealership tomorrow.
BTW, currently I have a Mercedes Benz S550 as family car and for daily drive Lexus IS-F. So this will be the very first time I'll be owning a Porsche.
Thank you!

+1 That's what I have been thinking about lately.
I know that there are a lot of bang for the buck with a 2006-2007 Cayman but from what I understand the one to get is the 2010 due to the upgrades. The choice would be a lot easier if the 2010 were a little cheaper...

I was in the same boat. I went to the dealer to look at a black 2010 Cayman. It looked great drove great, etc. Then I started looking at a black 2014 that was sitting on the lot. Once I drove it...that was it, I had to have it. Go for the 2014 if you can. Here's mine...

Thanks and enjoy the ride. It is a sweet car.

I'm inking my deal on a new Cayman S this afternoon. The car is at the Port of San Diego so I might get it within a couple of days (I hope).
The guys at Pacific Porsche in Torrance were fantastic and very supportive.

That is really high. Penfed is like .74% interest. OP hasn't replied since his first post, might have purchased a different vehicle.

I evidently wasn't clear. I asked the discount off of window price (MRSP) you were able to get; not the loan rate you got. And BTW 3.9% money these days is high.

I'd be shocked if they gave you anything off the new Cayman. This is the first week since it's introduction. If you're looking for a discount then you'll need to wait 6 months before you'll see them dealing.

Considering you are a first time Porsche buyer, I would say go ahead and grab the deal as 2010 model with little over 20K miles is definitely a good deal. Cayman is undoubtedly a great car and you don’t have to worry about its reliability and all. About the warranty, it depends on from whom you are buying, certain dealers provides certified ones.
