Cayman GT4 Officially Revealed!

Can't decide between white and sapphire blue. I've already owned 2 blue cars, so probably will go with white. It has a good contrast with the black body pieces.
Only other option I am debating is the full bucket seats. They look really nice, but I'm not sure how comfortable they will be. Anyone with a GT3 or 918 care to chime in?

Yes I had a 7.2 GT3 with bucket seats and they're awesome! Wifey hated them because no seat heating and they don't recline. In fact, they don't even go up and down. I'm tall and the seats were perfect for me but that's something to consider. Other than that, the bucket seats are surprisingly comfortable. You can easily add a harness. Def an option I'll choose!
Depends on your weight, if you are thin, you'll want the bucket seats.
Here's what I would select: http://www.porsche-code.com/PG5WTZC7

This is mostly going to be for street use so that's why I'm hesitant about getting the buckets. I'm a pretty small guy though so I don't think fitment will be an issue. Worried more about comfort levels on long drives. I'll definitely try to arrange some seat time if I can.

Also interesting to note, these are actually height adjustable electronically.

I just completed the specs on the GT4, it quickly creeping up in the six figures. Darn it, it almost as expensive as used 997.2 GT3 after taxes and fees. Oh well, she worth it, now its time to justify it to the wife
First couple of observations on my end:
Bi-Xenons with PDLS in black is both standard equipment but also listed as option. Config bust?
1k for leather and alcantara interior a bargain, adding another 1.5k just for deviated stitching ridiculous.
PCCBs are the same version as for the GT3 but a lot cheaper (steel set is the same as the GT3 also); at 7k almost worth considering but worried about the replacement cost (but you're prolly stuck with 20" wheels with those 410mm PCCBs)
CDR plus seems audio interface of choice if you don't need nav.
Will def opt in for sport bucket seats
Light colors will look awesome against the many black contrast parts. Oh man I can almost see the yellow (never thought I would say that, but then again need to opt in for PCCB for optics)
I was told the wing itself is the same as for the upcoming GT3 RS
I don't mind the engine not being true dry sump. It's a track proven and solid engine that will do well in the GT4. Same for the gearbox (S/GTS ratios). Revs to 7,800 according to AP in EVO video. I can't help but getting really excited about this car!
Anyone thoughts on the sport chrono with track app? Sounds like a fun gimmick but $$$. You don't get the clock in the dashboard at all if you don't choose this option. But doesn't seem to have any performance settings/impact. Any experiences?
Btw, never understood build sheets without the extended range fuel tank. My GT3 lasted less than 1.5 hours on the track and I was constantly at the gas station. Only little extra weight but true GT feeling on track days. Smoking package = another phone charger. Both are free.

Quick questions for you guys:
1. the USA configurator does not have the option of backup camera or parking sensors. Do you think that's a function of the configurator or would those options not be available on this car? With a 4-year old now in the house, I am a HUGE believer in these systems.
2. Similarly, there's no option for the rear wiper. I benefit from living in S. CA and would likely drive this car as a near daily driver. Having spent years in my old NSX and quite a bit of seat time in a 986 Cayman S, I'd really want that rear wiper. Again, do you think that's a function of the configurator?
It's been a long time since I was giddy thinking about a car. I can't wait to drive one of these.

I like that you can spec the GT4 with an air conditioning and radio delete for someone who is going to track the car regularly.
I'm surprised there's no front-axle lift available like on the GT3. The GT3's lifts it 30mm, which is how much the GT4 sits lower over the Cayman S.

deleting A/C and radio will prove financially painful come resale time. Unless you are planning to gut the interior and turn it into a car that will never see the street again, deleting these is not advised.
Are you sure the buckets come that way? If that was posted somewhere I guess I missed it. I thought they just used simple brackets to keep the weight down.

Full bucket seats. The optional full bucket seats are made completely of carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) and have a carbon-weave finish. As a result, they offer particularly good lateral support with a minimum of weight. Fore/aft adjustment is manual, height adjustment is electric. The seats are upholstered in black leather as standard with seat centers in Alcantara™. The headrests are embroidered with the ‘GT4’ logo.
Nothing set in stone yet, but I figured since we are all sharing, here's my preliminary configuration.
What do you guys think?
