Cayman GT4 Officially Revealed!
No pdk so it doesn't overtake the 911, but the purist wouldn't have it any other way. With 997 GT3 performance, and an improved 981 cayman chassis, no doubt this is the best car they make. If only it rev'ed a bit higher.
The "parts bin" comment cracks me up...as if the GT4 has instantly lost ANY credibility.
ANY Porsche is made from pieces in a parts bin, and we all know that oftentimes parts will interchange between models. On top of that, witness the recent popular-but-pricey aftermarket move to out 3.8 Porsche engines in Boxster/Cayman platforms.
Some self appointed critics can sniff all they want disapprovingly of the GT4. Phht. Who cares?

Just put a deposit down on mine!
The car configurator is up on the official website. You can check out some new info and build your own here.

Can't decide between white and sapphire blue. I've already owned 2 blue cars, so probably will go with white. It has a good contrast with the black body pieces.
Only other option I am debating is the full bucket seats. They look really nice, but I'm not sure how comfortable they will be. Anyone with a GT3 or 918 care to chime in?

Love 991's but I like the 981's more.
On paper that maybe true and only on paper. It sounds like you've never driven a GT3/RS before and I strongly advise you to experience both cars before making any decisions. It's like comparing a 911 to a Macan. Totally different feel, different animal.

Try driving a GT3 in the city with the ground clearance, stiff suspension and sports seats on a regular basis
Assuming the GT4 is using GT3 parts like the suspension, sits nearly 1.4" lower to the ground and only comes in a manual, I'm pretty sure city driving will not be fun with rough roads and stop/go traffic
