Cayman GT4 Officially Revealed!
Yep! Selling my Boxster S and 550i and getting this as my only car.
I'm young, single, and work from home, so it shouldn't be too bad. Gonna drive the hell out of it every chance I get.

Contemplating this as a Daily Driver. Same scenario as above, work from home - do little daily driving, no kids at home anymore. Hard decision - will likely be tough to test drive GTS & GT4 to compare.
Yes. That is what it says on the official website website:

I am number 2 on the list at my dealer. 4 others called after me and placed their orders, so it looks to be in demand, but I am quite confident I will be one of the first to get one in July.
Nothing set in stone yet, but I figured since we are all sharing, here's my preliminary configuration.
What do you guys think?

I also have a question on the PDLS. For the 997.2 generation, the actual headlights looked different when ordering this option. What is the optical difference for the Cayman models?
I never thought I would say this but the Cayman actually looks better than the GT3! The GT3 has so much excess fat hanging off the rear end. I don't know if you can call it a Cayman anymore now that it has a 911 engine, it is more like the appropriate evolution of the 911 with the far superior mid-engine placement.

Yes and no.
They won't be limited in the sense that they aren't only going to max X. However, production capacity will mean that there won't be an unlimited number and dealers are likely to get limited allocations.
Sadly, I'm betting that's going to mean MSRP+ which is f*d up.

Have you seen the light design package in person? I have it in my Cayenne and it's not that great IMO. Basically a dimmed roof light and then small LEDs in the doors, giving it a bit of a stretch limo look. Sort of misplaced in a sports car. Also may want to consider getting the dashboard carbon fiber if you do the center console.

I did select the carbon fiber interior package, but the configurator is still showing aluminum in the pictures for some reason.
Concerning the lights, all the press pictures they have shown are PDLS so we have nothing to compare with at the moment. It's a great option and for only $690, I'm not worried.
I believe so.
Word from corporate is 2 years of production, with only 600 being made per year. My dealer along with a few others I have heard from have stopped taking deposits as they don't think they will be able to fulfill all the orders.
Like they quit making the GT3 after 2004/5?
As long as Porsche makes the Cayman I think they will make this car. There may be interruptions as the regular Cayman transitions from one model to the next but I would think the product will follow a cycle similar to the GT3, and means they will probably always be hard to get.

Well, I traded my 2013 C2S for the GT4. Paul Miller made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I jumped right on it. It's going to be a long wait (July), but I just picked up an R/T Scat Pack to play with in the meantime (that's the one with only 500-horsepower).
I personally would get this since I like to have lighted vanity. It's a joke that doesn't come standard.
Looks like you're going to have to change your name to CaymanPete. lol
Oh wow, that's unbelievable. Guess I'll throw it back on.
Anyone having trouble ordering this car from the dealership? A friend of mine told me the allocation is only 600 units but based on the posts I've read, that doesn't seem to be the case. I was debating to either get a 997 turbo or a GTR until 2 days ago when this was released and now I think I am sold!
Anyone else already planning some power mods to this car? I wonder how cross compatible Fabspeed parts for the 991 Carrera S are with this car (exhaust probably won't fit). What are some mods for the 9A1 motor? Plenum? I was thinking if the 991 GT3RS will have a manual transmission, then it could be possible for a potential engine swap down the line
I really enjoyed the power of my 991S and can't wait to see how this engine will perform in the Cayman. I'm pretty sure the car won't disappoint.
