Previous 997.2 S owner here which I sold 2 years ago. I've always wanted a boxster so I just pulled the trigger ! Will pick up the car on Monday !

There are those of us that are not too sure about the turbo 4 banger, myself included, but that doesn't mean that it is still not a terrific car. On paper, the numbers are impressive and the car has received some excellent reviews. In the end, the only opinion that matters is yours. Enjoy your new ride!

I'm thinking of a new Cayman 718, S or base I haven't decided yet. Haven't test driven either yet either so there's that to get out of the way.

If I may? Did you pay sticker or get a discount?

 

I got a slight discount (5%) tried for 10 but dealer said the 718's have been selling super quick and many places marking them up. so most they would go was 5%.

 

At this time of the year, and a new model too boot, 5% ain't bad, ain't bad at all.

Our development car is here now a 718 Non-S Non PSE. I was given the opportunity to get in the drivers seat and being someone that was also not so sure of the "turbo 4 banger" I was impressed. She's quick on her feet for a 2.0 Liter, really responsive and fun to drive.Our baseline dyno showed 285 wheel horsepower so shes no slouch either!

We are working on the full exhaust line now and hoping COBB releases the accessport for them shortly! I'll keep everyone updated as we are coming to a close on this R&D project next week!

 

She arrived last night !

 

I don't have too much time but will give a quick synopsis of my first experience. I received the car last night and drove it for 150 miles today. A mix between freeway, regular roads, and mountain roads.

This is absolutely, hands down, 100%, the best handling car I've ever owned. Better than my 997.2 Carrera S.

I was a bit worried about the turbo lag but to be honest I didn't really notice it.

And it's actually quicker/faster off the line and on the straight away's than I was expecting.

All in all, very happy with it !
