Subwoofer enclosure

Does anyone know who makes this enclosure for a Boxster?

you call your local OEM part man... and is it really a sub? I believe they are just rear mids... maybe wrong... I dont have em and have never taken a good look at one before.

Thanks Zack. My buddy has a Boxster and I saw this picture and he wanted to improve the sound in his car. I'll pass the info along.

I think the sound is exceptional, but I have never heard it without it. So it could be more then exceptional. I love a subwoofer as much as the next guy, but I actually have the Bass set at -2 because it can be quite overbearing.

It is an OEM product that came on the car when I got it. It is a sub and two mid speakers made by Bose and I believe it is part of the sport touring package. I have no idea how difficult it would be to install after the fact. I do know it is an all enclosed, removable unit and it has only one wiring harness on the passenger side. If you guys want some photos, just let me know

when i bought my 2001 boxster, it didn't have the sub. i felt that with the top down the stereo sucked. so, i bought the bose/porsche sub and it was perfect. great addition to the front speakers plus the sub portion was sweet (considering it replaces the storage unit and fits perfectly). i am in the process of selling mine as i don't need it since i now have a cayman s. if interested, hit me back or pm me.

riverflyer, got your pm and will forward a pic.

i love the cayman s and really don't miss my boxster s at all. i found though ownership that i am simply not a convertible kind of a person. that being said, for me at least, i would not have known that unless having owned one. not a slam on the boxster but rather very happy to be in my cayman s.

i added an amp that i put in the front (luggage compartment) and ran a line to the unit and hooked it up that way. so no, there was no existing plug to use but a stereo shop can hook it up no problem.

New kid on the block, need a few more posts to go before I can P.M. I'll kick around here a bit to see if I can make a few meaningful contributions and get back to you.

Thanx,

P.K
