Jesus 911s in Alberta lol gosh
I spoke to a couple reputable porsche tuners in the states. They have seen data from their alberta customers that show our cars don't seem to like the husky 94 as much as shell 91....
So I guess I'll stick with Shell 91. All summer last year I was on teh husky 94 though.
What 2 USA tuners had data logs of Husky 94 vs what 91?
My personal dyno testing (on a vehicle tuned for local 94) resulted in detonation with 91 and no detonation with 94. I have A28's in my 996. I will drive across town to fill up with 94.
E10 at Shell and Esso?? I don't think the Shell or Esso in Edmonton have 10% Meth. Pretty sure that the V-power from Shell and the Esso Extra Premium are both straight gas here in town. And that's why the e10 94 from Husky is different from the 91 at Esso or Shell.
Having said that, the tuner in the US that I was speaking with still suggested to me that 94 e10 with a 93/94 tune would still yield better performance results than 91 straight gas with a 91 tune.
FWIW, check this link too: http://pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=AB Bottom line, check the pump to see if it's labelled E10.

That's strange. I should give Marek a call. Haven't talked with him for a while. It doesn't make any sense. 94 octane with 10% meth vs. 91 octane with 10% meth.

By the way Mike, why were you up so late? F1 hasn't started yet.....
Shell Prem gas in the summer is an alcohol free fuel in most provinces.
The goverment has mandated how much environment saving alcohol the fuel makers must put into our fuels. <-- Oh would I like to go on a rant with that piece of environmental sarcasm..... Shell does comply with that requirement but they do so by adding all the required amount to there bronze and silver gas. Thus the 91 is an alcohol free fuel. The ethanol added to fuels does show and increased octane rating on paper but in the real world of anti knock it is not actually as good as the numbers may seem. I could write a thesis on this topic but I am not inclined to do so here. For my money shell 91 gets the nod.....
