Anyone with a 996TT in Edmonton?
I have a problem. I have reached a point in my life where I can afford to get a 911T. The only option is to shop in the USA due to the price savings. I have been in my friends 930T, but never been in a 996TT. I cant find a dealer with a 996TT that isnt asking 75-80k ... and wont let me test drive the car because I don't wear a suit and tie to their store.
ANYONE care to stop by and show off their 996TT to me? I would love to go for a spin and get a feel for what the car is like. I am not asking to drive your car... I would just like to sit in the passenger seat, and see how well I fit... check out head room... just feel the ride quality etc etc.
Maybe I should go drop 800 bucks on a suit and tie, then goto one of these car dealerships and the slimey salesman will let me sit in one.

You can come check out mine. No test pilots, especially since I'm not selling, but I might take you for a quick spin if the timing is right. I think Johnny is right, there are several for sale in the city (not all listed though as some are 'quietly' selling).
And DON'T ask what John was wearing when he bought any of his cars....... emperor's new suit.....LOL

These guys are right, there are several cars for sale in AB ( though I'm more familiar with Calgary) that could likely be bought in the $50s.
A nice, well cared for 01 996TT in the US will run 45-47... after exchange (minute currently), duty, shipping, inspections, customs, and all the other little things, you're not really coming out any further ahead.
There are cheaper ones available down south, but with these cars (996TTs), paying for quality up front can save lots ($ and headaches) in the long run. Being able to see a car in person, drive it and have an inspection done at a local, reputable shop that you or friends know should be worth a small premium in piece of mind. Just my .02...

Currently discussing pricing with a dealership on a 01 996TT, 17,000miles, original owner, it was just traded in on a new 997. The original owner did all servicing at their dealership, so all service sheets are scanned onto a PDF for me. They will sell it for 45k US... I am offering them 42k. If I can get it for 42k after shipping, duties, gst, AC tax, flight to test drive it, riv fee, daytime running light fee, brokerage fee... it will cost me 51k CAN.
Show me 1 single 996TT in Alberta or BC anywhere near that price with such low miles... never seen moisture (Arizona car). Closest similar example is asking 82k CAN. The savings are huge...
If you can direct me to a 996TT with less then 30,000kms for under 55k, I would love to check it out.
