If you were thinking of replacing your Cayenne.....

Here's a question for my fellow Cayenne owners. Have any of you been disappointed with the real world space limitations in the rear of the Cayenne ? When we bought it, we did not have our little one at the time, and we have found that the rear space is quite limited for a stroller/cargo/future kiddos.

My question is this...if you were thinking of replacing your Cayenne, what larger spaced alternative would you or have you considered ?

Is the mercedes SUV any larger space wise...or is my only alternative a domestic luxo-barge.

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

A lot of the German stuff is limited in rear cargo space unfortunately. However, you could go the Audi route with a Q7. The space is very generous without the third row in place. There is also the option of going with the full size Range Rover.

I sat in the back of the Range Rover, didn't really feel that bigger. I didn't think of the Q7...will look at it.

I think at this point, a third row is a must. I think from a practical standpoint, an Escalade or something is probably the largest space wise.

I had to get a more compact stroller (now we have three for one baby). We still have our LR3 which has a lot of space and I don't have to worry as much about it (spills, mess, etc) I guess I'll have to keep it for now. It's amazing how much baby stuff you need.

Jas,

Look into the R class... tons of back seat room in that thing! Overall size, not as big as a 'sclade, but very nice inside!

The "R" class has lots of room and easier to access it because of ride height than the "GL" or the Caddy.

The Q7 would be another choice and you can get an incredible lease on them right now as well as deals. Many are giving over 10-15% off MSRP at the moment.

I interior is pretty nice. My neighbor works at the Mercedes Dealership and she had brought both the "R" and the "GL" back for her company car. The "R" was pretty cool and the "GL" was larger on the inside than I thought just like the "R". Figured the "R" would suit your needed of baby strollers, etc as it is lower to the ground and easier to get in and out. Strapping a child in at car level is better than at BIG SUV level

We will be getting a GL later this year. Decent cargo area with the 3rd row up.

I would go for a '07 R63. I rented a R320CDI class in Europe a few months ago and they drive very nicely. The R63 does 0-to-60 in 4.6 seconds... You can probably get $10,000 off MRSP if not more. I believe they imported less than 50 of them, so they are very exclusive.

For '08 they only offer the R350 2WD or 4WD or the R320CDI.

The GL550 is probably not a bad choice either.

Or if you want to have some extra money left, Nissan Armana is HUGE.

The R is funny looking but a good choice. Those new Escalades are pretty freakin' sweet. Let us know what you decide, I hope all is well!!
