Thumbs down Check this out !!! <-----

I recently took my 04 Cayenne S to the dealership for service (had the recall work done, tint redone, etc. etc.). When the car was brought back to me, it was damaged!! It looked as if a car ran into the rear driver sides corner as if they were pulling out from behind me! It is terrible, scraped the paint off down to the metal... if you guys want pictures let me know and i'll take some. Well anyways, I went and talked to a person through the serivice manager at the place, and he said they they are not responsible and that the chances are too slim that someone would hit the car at the dealership. Well anyways, I am saving up to already replace a panel from a mishap I had, and now it seems as I will have to double the expense i should expect. If you guys look at the rear corners... you will notice that it is ONE BIG panel that wraps around the entire rear end... too much $$$ to repaint. Well they are claiming that the car CAME to the dealership that way, and I know it didn't... washed the car three hours before I took it to the dealership (finishing a long washing process I had been doing the day prior) and I would of noticed the scratches. Sorry guys, but i am ticking Mad!! What do you all think I should do? This is truly unfair...

All feedback greatly appreciated

write a letter to the service manager immediately, describing all issues and circumstances, also mention contacting porsche rep directly if needed and have the letter return receipt requested. at the same time call your insurance company and tell them you want to pursue the dealers insurance whats the procedure. fax your insurance a copy of the letter also.

thats what i would do. i bet the dealer steps up before any insurance is involved.

I feel bad for you, you should do something about it...

Maybe the front dent I had in my old bumper came from the dealer too, life is hard...

JROY: thanks alot man!! I'm gonna take note of all that and possibly do just that

Deetz: thanks man.. i feel like crap because now my rear end is damaged in two seperate places lol.. (couple months back was backing up and forgot my hatch was open all the way and it rubbed on my garage door, nothing too bad just gonna get the panel repainted so its perfect). I am a perfectionist, i keep everything nice and clean, so this really irritates me =(

Any other suggestions greatly appreciated!!

Dont pay a single cent for the repairs. Of course the dealership is going to deny it, do u think they will give you a ring and tell you that they crashed ur car?? Remember, the guy who rammed ur car wont admit since he will probably get fired. You have to talk to the manager and the service manager and express your concerns. Tell them that your extremley mad and upset. While your at it call PCNA and tell them to schedule you an appt with your regional reprensentative. Im giving you a heads up that it wont be easy for them to admit their mistake. The last thing to say if they still wont accept responsibility is to tell them that your going to take this to court. This should shake them up. I was in a smiliar situation a couple of months back. They accepted full responsibility at first and paid 3/4 of the total bill, however for the last part of bill they said they were not responsible and would not pay, I called PCNA scheduled an appt and they said they would call me back in 2 days. A week passed and I rang them up again they said to wait. Week 3 passed and nothing, I called them and threatened them with a law suit, 2 hrs after threatening them someone called me and apologized. I told him if you guys accepted full responsibility for the repairs and paid 3/4 of bill why are you now not accepting responsibility he answer was bla bla bla go to ur insurance. After 5min of talking to him he agreed to pay for the last part of the bill and apologized, and at last i just got the cheque today. woohaa.... it took a lot of time and patience and listening to their crap.... sorry for the long post

By the way, this was at the Scottsdale Porsche dealership (a part of the large United Auto Complex aka "UAG WEST"). I feel kind of bad because all the people there are so nice and friendly...

You should not have paid if they crashed the car. Do what I told you to do in the earlier post and see how it goes. Good luck

Heres the thing, I was out on a trip with the family and someone picked the car up-- she had absolutely nothing to do with the damage -- noticed it when she got home (this is why I wanted to pick up the car, to be sure that nothing happened to the car but my father insisted that the car be taken from the dealership the day it was done to get it out of the sun and stuff, Arizona Heat ruins everything).

CayenneS - don't feel bad because people wrecked your car with a smile... that doesn't make them nice, it makes them dishonest.

I had work done at North Scottsdale and they were sloppy. Returned my car dirty with grease and scuff marks everywhere. I won't take it back...

Just curious, who is the girl who picked up the car and had nothing to do with the damage. You say she noticed the damage after she got it home but not at the dealership. If I may be the Devil's advocate, it just goes to show that when you pick up the car, you need to look it over inside and out. A lot can happen at a busy parking lot that may have nothing to do with the staff or the dealership, yet if it happens on property, they can be shamed into taking care of the problem. In your case, time elapsed, someone else picked up the car, there was already some damage to the paint, and you cannot be absolutely sure about what happened (ie the "girl"). That is going to be the main problem with PCNA. When my dealership accidentally scratched my rocker panel of my TT (partly my fault b/c the car is lowered more than OEM), they DID call me right away and said they were sorry and would fix it within 24 hours at their cost. So there are honest dealerships out there. Good luck and let us know what happens. Try to be polite, I know it's hard when you feel violated, but the less defensive the manager, the more likely it will be handled locally rather than regional or national.
