Audi Q7 vs Cayenne S

The warranty on my 05 CS is a few months shy of expiring.
I need to get new tires, and the prices of gas are creeping me out.
My question to you fellow six speeders.
I have been looking at a Q7 3.6, its a bit better with gas, plus its a new car in the sense of warranty, service etc...
The thing is that i own my Cayenne, im making payments on it. And im around 3 years to finish paying it off, so more or less its around the same time to lease the Q7. And from my point of view, when im done paying my cayenne it will be mine and in a way or another its an asset. Meanwhile at the end of lease you end up with nothing.

I would like to hear what you guys think!!!!

Thanks guys!

What are you wanting from a car?
If you desire the more sporty feel/ride, keep the Cayenne or get a new one of the same.
If you need a 3rd row, better gas, more boaty feel, but some little perks like lane assist/HK audio/better nav display, then get the Q7.

I was looking at both when I then decided to purchase my GTS. Get what works best for you.

On a separate note, it's never a financially wise decision to OWN what depreciates, meaning 99% of all cars.
Own what apprecaites, and lease what depreciates.

Although I didn't take my own advice when I purchased my GTS, that's what I would recommend.
Own real estate, lease a depreciating asset like a car/Cayenne/Q7.

Well, I love my Cayenne, I love how it drives, there are a couple of things I could live without, I hate the seats, and the lack of technology overall, but managed the install a Dice Ipod Connector and that has made up for a lot!

Overall im happy, just concerned about the warranty, the terrible depreciation and the increasing costs of mantainance.

I agree with you on the lease vs. purchase.
It would probably be smart to "cash out" on my cayenne since what I owe on it is very little and could probably still make a buck or two even by trading it in.
I know that im going to miss the power if I trade, as well as the handling. But then, will all the gadgets (sirius, bluetooth, pano roof, really comfy seats) make up for the before mentioned?

Even the Q7 with the comfort suspension package didn't sway me when I was deciding. It just felt too top heavy and boaty.
Please test drive both a new Cayenne and a new Q7 ebfore you lease/purchase, you might be surprised what you like better.

And if you like the touch screen and the new 7 speed, and a fwe other new gadgets, just wait for the new 09 Cayenne.

The only thing that was a consideration for me was the optional 3rd row, everything else the Cayenne had was better....... (IMHO).

According to Kiplinger, the Cayenne S is tied with the MDX for best resale value in the large and midsize crossover category.

To help you make a decision. If you buy an Audi, it's an OK brand, when I hear the name Audi, it doesn't really mean so much to me. But a Porsche is Porsche all the time, it's a legend, and when people ask you what your car is, you can proudly say it's a Porsche. Hope you got what I mean.

3rd row seat- the cramped death zone in the rear crumple zone.
I drove a Q7- no contest.
"Porsche, there is NO substitute."

Thank you all for your posts.
I did my homework and went to see the numbers and drive the Q7. There is absolutely no reason to change. The Audi is nice, the features are cool. But as BobbySpeed said: There is No subsitute.
I went by Champion Porsche to see a friend that works there and he let me drive the GTS. All I can say is: WOW. Now I know what I want. So with that in mind, im going to wait, until the 09 comes out and there are a couple of 08's in the market driven by rich wives that got bored of the car and want a Range Rover or a who knows what, and get one.
THANKS ALL!!!
