I'm looking at possibly getting a GTS. What are the differences in standard equipment and options on the 2009 vs the 2008?

 

PCM 3.0 if it is an option on your list - otherwise very little.

 

the 2008 guys were out having fun a lot sooner than the 2009 guys -- thats the main difference

 

2009 - Better sound system; better PCM; bluetooth; IPOD/MP3 integration; additional color; thicker steering wheel (possibly on 2008 as well - i am not sure)

If you are buying you can get a better deal on a 2008. If you are leasing - residuals are going to be higher on 2009. The price on 2009 is a bit higher.

 

so basically the only difference is the PCM which would come with bluetooth/ipod and word is that both the 2008 and the 2009 unit use the same connection method, so you could technically just get the new 2009 unit and swap it out and still be cheaper than the 2009.

 

some minor details are different, like the panoramic roof controls and some materials.

How is the sound system better? I was jammin to some Kid Rock "all summer long" last night and honestly I don't see how it could possibly sound any better? Better PCM? If it's touch screen you're refering to they get finger prints all over them, at least that has been my experience in our 08 RRSC and I didn't care for that at all.... I like the ipod/mp3 stuff and Porsche is WAY behind every one else here and should have had this stuff several years ago. I like the mac color and you're right the thicker wheel was available as an option on the 08s.
