Moddifying A Leased CS?

I'm doing some research for my father on here, he's wondering if he could put a fabspeed exhaust on his '08 CS without consiquence from the dealer. He'd remove it before giving the car back, but what about bringing it in for routine services?

I know the guys at the dealer would notice the noise and maybe even see the exhaust, but if there's nothing wrong with the engine or anything like that then I don't see it being a problem.

I'm sure you guys have some info on here, I'd appreciate to hear it!

Here's the CS

Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Although I would recommend he bypass the secondary cats and leave the mufflers alone. He'll get the better sound, better pedal response, and save a lot of cash.

Generally the muffler on a Cayenne isn't that bad as far as flow is concerned.

i would talk to your service rep/manager. Usually they dont really have problems on bolt-on items such as exhaust and intakes. What my service manager told me was that the warranty only goes up for the individual item that you replace (IE. mufflers, air filters, etc) but for your case they might have a problem b/c its a lease vehicle.

Thanks for the replies.

I've been pushing the secondary cat by-pass pipe for weeks on him now. After we test drove a GTS, he's dying to get his CS to sound like that.

trust me the CS is going to sound alot better than a stock GTS w/the bypass pipes, and alot louder too. you should check out some vids on youtube.com .

I would at least convince him to do the bypass FIRST. Add a set of BMC F1 free flow air filters for $160 and that car will ROAR when u WOT! (total spent, about $750)

After that, if he still wants to blow $2500 on mufflers, then go for it, but I'll bet he'll be so happy w/ the sound he won't even think about mufflers.

Then take the rest of the money that would have been wasted on mufflers and have the car chipped, and buy some lowering springs. Then he really will have a GTS!

Cool, thanks for the input. How much of a difference do the BMC Filters make?

there is a past post about evolution motorsports releasing a ECU flash for about 1500 and a air intake 695.

It makes a huge difference IMO. I would not do one without the other.

Ok. I'm just a bit skeptical because I've got a VW and a new air filter doesn't do all that much. But I can't compare my single air box 4 cylinder to a dual airbox V8. I'll look into the filters. Thanks!

Dammit christx! What happened to ur other Avitar??!

EVOs intake is very cool looking. Not a bad price. I haven't personally gone that route b/c I'm not convinced that it's 3 times better than the BMC filters. But it's definitely a good option.

IMHO, on my 911 the stock airbox has everything that it needs as far as flow. After comparing the 2, I actually sent the EVOMS back and went w/ the BMC/stock setup.
On a cayenne I have to admit that I've never seen the entire airbox, so I can't make an accurate comparison, but certainly you have plenty of surface area w/ 2 BMC freeflows.

Agreed. But The Cayennes have 2nd redundant cats, so if you eliminate some of the back pressure you WILL gain from additional intake. Doing one without the other will not be as good.

By "gain" I'm realistically talking better sound and throttle response, not really true HP.
