yes, common for turbo, but don't think it is as common in S.

I had a 04 CS for 4 years and driven about 15K miles, I think I only added one quart of oil in 4 years.

I have had my S over two years and some 38K miles.... not an ounce of oil added and I do check somewhat religiously, every second tank of gas or if Im about to make a run of 50 miles or more... also I do change my oil & oil filter myself every 5-7.5K 0w40 Mobil1 and the Porsche oil filter....

In terms of coolant I added a little once and it low end Porsche coolant... Audi/VW Orange colored factory fluid that I had... it was a fresh bottle hanging around since the days of my GTI....

I only added 1 qt, 2,000 miles after I bought it brand new.
Anything more than that, after the break-in is a little abnormal...

I'll add maybe .5 litre every 10000-12000 km's.

do most of you run the full 20K/1yr on your oil?... even with the spirited driving don't you consider it a stretch even for the synthetic... and what about stop and go traffic for those of you that live in congested towns/cities... I guess i am over thinking the oil and wear issue... its just I plan on keeping this thing for a few years as I outright purchased it ....

I only follow the oil change schedule as recommended by Porsche, no more and no less. I do not think that I will ever know more about Porsche than the Porsche engineers. I do not believe that doing more frequent oil changes will benefit the car very much. And even if it may wear and tear a little faster, then that's OK too, as it will give me an excuse to trade up...

Point taken, but I guess since I will hang on to mine probably for 100K or maybe 200K... I'll stick to my regiment...
