new car purchase

I am currently shopping for a new car. Hubby says I can get what I want(within reason, of course) I test drove a used Cayenne Twin Turbo. I loved it! I am looking at used Cayennes. I don't think I'll go for the turbo, seems to have a lot of issues? Any advice on the new car purchase would be appreciated.
I currently drive a 2003 vette so this would be a big change for me.....

new cayenne

i hadn't really thought about what i would want in it. My biggest wish would be heated seats and leather interior. I would like a 2006 or newer, low mileage, not sure of price yet. i am just starting my search and it seems like there are a few nice ones out there, not too bad in price compared to a brand new one(which is way out of my price range). Is there anything you would recommend, or something I should stay away from? Since I will be looking at used, what should I look for as far as maintenance? Also, what is maintenance like as far as cost on these cars? I see in some threads they eat tires. Is that true? We just got rid of a Honda S2000, had to get new tires every 15,000 miles and the car was not driven rough......
Any advice would be so appreciated!!!!
Thanks!!!

new car

I would say less than $50K. I don't know if it's realistic, but i really don't need alot of the pricey upgrades....the car will be babyed, but will also be my daily driver.....

you can find used ones for that price range.
Cayenne and Cayenne S. I would stay newer than 05 with those.

Maybe even a newer model, with less options might still keep you around or less than 50K.

good luck.

It's a personal choice, so I don't know what advice to give, other than all peppers are wonderful.

Under $50 k for 2006 Cayenne is very realistic. Cayenne S is within reach. Get the latest model year you can! Earlier years = issues!

What sort of issues? I just saw an '04 Cayenne S for sale on ebay for $18k with 159,000 miles. I asked the owner if he had any issues and he replied nope just regular maintenance.

Have a great day!

the earlier ones has some electronic issues.
The bugs since then have been fixed.
As far as engine reliability, I think they are good, just not the DFI, but still FI.

Still a good engine though.

fuel injected = early models
direct fuel injected = current

cosmetic changes/upgrades
interior upgrades option-wise

the car as a whole for the early models are sturdy and reliable cars though.
newer ones just have a lot of the early little bigs removed.

no worries with an early purchase though.

good luck

Jace,

What years are the early models? Is that the same as the 1st gen, 2003-2006?

correct me if I am wrong but wasn't 2008, the first for the v8 to have DFI in the Cayenne?....

and it's the 4.8 instead of the lessor.

I might have my numbers off, and I am away, so I cannot look/remember.
