Today, after sliding on the ice, decided to pull the trigger for Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow and went to Discount Tire. After a bargain with that sales guy, I managed to get all 4 tires installed balanced etc. for $980. Tire size is 275/45/19. Paid 15% down, they said delivery of the tires will take 3-5 days and they'll call me when my tires arrive...

I hope I got a good deal, and any opinions before I pay the 85%?

I ordered them from tirerack but size 295/35/21 - around 1200$. Looks like it's the only tire made big enough for the 21 inch sport plus wheels.

 

yeah I believe 295/35/21 is the borderline for winter tires...

 

I love the Scorpions--live near lake Michigan, lots of lake effect snow--great winter tires..bought mine from tire rack with cheap wheels for the winter. You won't regret the purchase

 

I live in MI too, they are made for michigan indeed... I'll test them on I-96 tomorrow at higher speeds

nice! we have pirelli scorpions on our suburban. we've been very happy with them.

 

today I was testing them on the highway, had to pick-up mom from the airport. I had a 2 hours irritating driving experience. The guys at discount tire have failed to balance the tires, that's for sure. More than the steering wheel, the whole car was shaking...
