Cayenne or cayman
Cayenne or cayman
I've got $40g's to spend on a toy, I really want to buy a cayman s which will be easy to find with low miles for 40k. However my wife wants me to get a cayenne. Now if I go for the cayenne then I'll have to get a turbo, which means for 40k I'm gonna have to buy one with pretty high miles on it. The question is, if I buy a cayenne turbo with slightly high miles on it, am I opening myself up to pricey repairs? Or are they pretty bullet proof even with high miles? Thanks in advance
you are asking for problems with a Cayenne Turbo with high miles depending on who has taken care of it for it's entire like. From past experiences, with higher turbo miles, many things can go wrong, and I would be only owning one under warranty. The Cayman S is a great ride. In fact, I have a lead for you on a 2006 Cayman S manual with 17k miles for 39,900 if you are interested. Dark blue with tan interior and very clean.

Man... really comparing apples to oranges with this one BUT, for me it'd have to be the Cayman S as a "Toy". The Cayenne is about as much fun as you can have in a car that will still haul the family around but if its for a spirited drive on the weekend the Cayman will just put a bigger smile on your face (Cayenne guys don't flame me for this, simply a matter of opinion)
Any particular reason you've narrowed it down between these two P-Cars? - 40K will go a long ways in this market, including a decent 996tt...

Well, my last toy was an nsx and i love the way the mid engine cars handle. I've driven a few cayman s and just fell in love. My wife is the one who wants the cayenne, so trying to avoid any major fights I told her that I would do some research into then. My heart is really in the cayman and no offense to anyone, but the cayenne would kind of be a "settle for" car. When I think of a cayenne I think of it as a daily driver and not really a toy. Also I keep getting the response that the cayman has no room
for a car seat. Lol.

if your last toy was an NSX then you will be dissapointed with the cayman.
theres not a lot that will match the Honda NSX in the handeling department.
but based on your 2 choices it would be the cayman, as you can hardly call the cayenne a "toy" unless you want to off road it.
(i thought they called them accura in the states?)

My nsx was a 91 ( first year) and it did handle great, but it did have it's share of issues. And yes in the states they are called Acura. Acura is the high end hondas in the states

Cayenne cannot be classified as a toy. It is a fast SUV that carries your kids and their toys, and can tow your toy as well.
How old are your kids? as a 996 can be bought well within 40K that may fulfill your need.

I currently have no kids, but the wife is really wanting kids. I think a Porsche is much cheaper than a kid. Lol. Anyways I think my best bet will be a cayman. I'd love a 911, but I really want something with low miles. I'm afraid that if I went with the cayenne or a 911 then I'd have to get one with 40000 or more miles on it. I'm looking for a low cost of ownership at least for the first few years that I have it
