What kind of lowering modules are the best for Cayenne S?

Hey all,
What types of lowering modules are the best in terms of reliability and price? I own an '04 Cayenne S with air suspension and am thinking of putting lowering modules to eliminate those ugly gaps between the wheels and fenders. Which are the recommended ones?

Jeff:

Obviously, you have the air suspension. So I would look into the Gemballa, TechArt, and Cargraphic versions. You are usually talking around $1,200 (off the top of my head) for a module. A very good mod for the Cayenne IMO.

Either one is the same, get the cheapest one, I don't think Techart is worthed. I can't really remember but Cargraphic has the cheapest and most worthed air suspension upgrade. Give Eric a call, he has done this to some of NY Cayenne owners.

let me know if you want me to drop you off to Dick's. I believe Dick's is doing Jamy's kit too if he is still getting one. I think you need to bring your car though

Jeff: I know Dick's pretty well, my bro uses them for 4 of his cars. If you really want Dicks to do it, I'll give them a call tomorrow, I know the manager, I may be able to help you to cut the line

It will be a little stiffer but if you put it back to normal level it will be like stock.

The ride should not suffer with the air suspension that much since it just lowers the vehicle and does not change the actual shock settings. This place is becoming the Boston section lately.

TCM is correct, your ride will not suffer, only on offroad conditions where the truck is too low and hits the ground
Here is a photo of our module at its lowests (those are 22's for reference):

Jeffs, I had the Cargraphic module installed by Eric. I love it. Let me know if you have any questions.

I haven't seen any for $1200. So I don't know what TCM is talking about. They are more like $1800-$2400 with Cargraphic being the cheaper.

Cargraphic is also the only one that I know of that comes with a switch on the dash to instantly convert back to stock mode, so it's really like having 10 height modes and 6 dampening modes.

I also bought the techart unit first, but was not able to use it because even though they call it "plug n play" it is NOT. The instructions told me to go to my dealer and for them to use the Porsche tool(computer) to recalibrate the suspension. When I swapped the ECUs the air suspension gave a fault code and went into limp mode(frozen in normal ride height).

Needless to say my dealer wasn't about to do that for me, so I returned it and went with Cargraphic.

What kind of warranty issues will arise if I lower my cayenne? Although I am all for cosmetic upgrades to make the car look good, I still go to school and teh car is an indispensable part of my life and I'm not going to keep going back and forth to the dealership

Jeff:

No need to worry about warranty issues with suspension ecu in there. It should be no problem at all. Worst case, pull the ecu out and switch back to stock if need be.
