Cayenne in the Nevada Desert

(dry) Lake Winnemucca in Nevada. The caves and rock shelters in the mountains in the pics have yielded human relics dating back 8000-11,000 before present. Lots of big open space, lizards, rattlesnakes and adventure.

2009 Cayenne GTS running on 18" All-Terrain Nitto Terra Grapplers. Sand, rocks, and some areas of talcum powder like dry lake bed. Mighty comfortable "four wheelin'".

Very nice. Would like to see more pics showing what the Cayenne can do off-road.

How is the highway noise with those Nittos?

No problem. Quiet, no roar or whine. Much improved ride quality especially on rougher roads. Very happy with them so far.

The terra grapplers look nice. What sizes are you running. Wheel size 18 x ?

Nice to really see a Cayenne off-road.

No rubbing, they are the suggested OE sizing: 255/55-18. Lots of room in both fenderwell and brake rotor/wheel clearance. It looks like bigger tires would fit and I believe the Transsyberia uses 265/65-18. I was reluctant to go there as the speedo/NAV error would be pretty significant.

Nice to really see a Cayenne off-road.
Those are the Victor Equipment wheels, they specialize in all Porsche. 18"x9.5 (ET49), I replaced the stock 21"'s as they and the low-profile street tires are not good for off-road!

The Transsyberia Rallye cars used 265/65-18 BFG All-Terrain A/T's. The cars being delivered to private owners are 255/55-18 all season radials; unless you opt for the bigger wheels. I've been told that on the Transsyberia there is selectability in the driver's computer display for different tire sizes. I'll find that out for sure in November when I take delivery.
