Check Dipped Beam?

Hello All,

Bought my wife a 2004 Cayenne S. While I was away on a trip she said the drivers side headlight went out. I just checked it out and not only is the low beam not working, the high beam doesn't work either. On the dashboard it says "Check Dipped Beam" along with the i warning message. Help please, thank you.

once in a while, when accelerating hard, on uneven surfaces or turning, i'll also get the "check dipped beam" warning.... momentarily. after miles of driving along, the warning will go away, or it may last til i get home. if so, the following day, it goes away. i've always thought there was a loose connection that was jarred loose? hopefully, this is the case for you too. good luck.

I'd bet you are getting an intermittent disruption in the interface between the back of your headlight and the electronic adapter. When you pull the headlight, you will see a multi-pronged adapter. When the headlight is inserted, occasionally the interface does not completely snap on to the back of the headlight. Vibrations or shocks will disrupt the connection. If you remove some of the cowling, you will be able to reach behind and make sure it is pushed in.

or you can shave off the clips on the wire hardness and snap it into the back of the headlight before pushing it in. i learned that on rennlist.

also if you're using aftermarket hID double check the hid connector inside the light housing. I have notice it's a bit loose and i have to adjust the prongs for a better grip.
