Problem W Headlight

Hey gang

My right cornering light went out on me. so i changed both of them at the same time.

After installation, the low beam on my left light would not work. ordered a new bulb, installed it. now neither the high beam or low beem work on the left side. checked fuses, everything seemed ok. the cornering light on the left side works though.

any ideas? i have bi-xenon lights btw. Im kind of a noob when it comes to HIDs. any leads would be greatly appreciated.

The problem usually is with the socket at the back of the headlight assembly tray.....When you have the headlight out take a look inside the fender. It's likely the connector has moved out of position. There is s spring clip to hold it in the correct position, but they do break off..... Hope this helps.

As mentioned above, sometimes the whole headlight assembly and wiring harness loosens out of place. Make sure the connectors on the Cayenne and the headlight housing are in place and reposition the headlamps. They should work just fine afterwards.

And to add to both of those posts make sure you tighten the un-locking latch with a 1/4" socket or driver, sometimes pushing on the headlight while turning helps seat it and lock it in place.

bad xenon or cornering light?

I had a similar problem when changing all my bulbs and now my right xenon will not come on and both corning lights do not work. I checked the fuses and they are ok and the connecter in the back of the light appears fine. Do the low beam xenons need to be on to activate the cornering lights. Also could my ballast on my xenon gone out, and if so how can I check it. I have already tried different D1s bulbs with no luck.

I was 100% sure it wasnt the connector....and it was lol

to check to see if the ballast failed, simply switch the ballast from the left to right and vice versa, and see if the problem switches sides

Where all your lights out when the connector was not working. My small parking light still comes on and the blinker and high beam work fine. I did fine my low beam fuse was blown and replaced it. This is why i am suspecious of the ballast going bad

To make the connector easier to seat - a bit of non-conductive grease on the plastic that slides into the female part of the connector will help. I've also greased the rails and the locking mechanism, which makes it easier to get the headlight in and out.
