Engine Restore Aditive

What are your thoughts on this? Some swear by it and some say big no no.

I've used the aditive called "Restore" on a few of the older cars of mine...nothing on the newer and nicer stuff though. I've actually seen a noticable difference in the beater cars and know the stuff works but not sure about these newer cars.

Wanted to get some input from you guys.

Thanks!!

I'm not sure I'd want to put that in my engine. Do you have low compression now?

No don't think so anyway. Driven a few CTT's and mine drives just the same as the others.

The car have a bit over 60k and thought it might be a good idea.

Redline makes a product that you put in the oil right before an oil change. Drive around about 30min, then dump the oil.

I used it in my 996 and it was fine.

Anyone else have any experience with this product?

Here you go:

http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=121&pcid=1

On the safe side I would not recommend leaving this product in for more than 30min.

Hi everyone,
First post on the Cayenne forum. I've just come off of 6 years of Cayenne TT ownership.
The issue of additives was just recently discussed on the 997TT forum.

Lots of people remove a quart of oil, add a quart of ATF to the car, and let it idle 30 minutes before draining. They say it works, I have no idea...

My vote is for just taking care of it, occasional can of BG 44K in the gas is alright, but if you do that, do it on the last tank of fuel prior to an oil change, to drain out everything the 44k just cleaned. Having just done my coolant pipes at 63K miles, my intake valves are nearly spotless and the intake runners of the heads were nearly untarnished clean aluminum. I run Shell 91 whenever possible, and drive it like it should be driven. Not hard on it, but I like to have fun with it. I have seen MUCH worse carbon buildup on cars that aren't driven as well, or maintained poorly, with much fewer miles on them.
