2011 Hybrid Unordered... Turbo Ordered

So much for trying to be environmentally responsible, but hey the new turbo is meant to be more efficient than the older one right?!

Specs Below:
  • Dark Blue Metallic
  • Leather Interior in Black
  • Stainless Steel Front/Rear Skid Plate
  • Porsche Entry + Drive
  • Heated Windscreen
  • Roof Transport System/ Rails in Aluminum
  • Reversing Camera with ParkAssist F/R
  • Thermally + noise insulated glass
  • PDCC
  • PTV Plus
  • Seat ventilation
  • Non-smoker packager
  • Comfort lighting
  • Burmester sound
  • Tel module
  • Voice Control

As an aside when I told my wife I had changed my mind she just shook her head, rolled her eyes and reminded me that she had told me this would happen. She then proceeded to explain that there was no way my fragile male ego couldn't stand the fact that she had a GTS and I would be driving a hybrid. Fair point

really? tarbo is only 15k more. I thought the turbo were like 100k and the S were in the 70s. I had an S before and it was nice. but i bet the Turbo would be noicer.

I price out the S and Turbo and came up with aprox 15k difference too. The differential would be the standard equipment items on the Turbo which need to be added as extras on the S.

Hope I didn't steer you to the turbo You picked most of my options! Except color! I really think the turbo is the 'bargain' compared to the S or even the GTS! I plan on jet black/black leather/your options except tel mod/adding 21 inch rims. If they offer the ice blue metallic, I'll probably get that and hopefully the two-tone black/blue interior exactly like the turbo S cab. You will definately get your turbo before I get mine! I was going for a Pan turbo, but I fell in love with the new Cayenne looks!

great choice, I'd personally give Hybrid a few more years unless BP can't stop that leak before the end of the year

A few questions- You really think the voice control is useful/worth it? I never use it on my wife's MDX, and Acura doesn't charge an extra $595 for it. Why not the sport wheel with paddles? Do you have concerns that the insulated/heated windshield will interfere with radar detector/ezpass?

I'm 2nd in line at my dealer for a CTT, but might wait until Sept. for the espresso/cognac interior.

It priced out at 122,985. Not sure what the final number will be until the car comes in. I'll be taking delivery late September when my x5 lease is up

Nah, just helped nudge 21 inch rims are sure nice. Makes the vehicle look even more aggressive

- Not sure if it is worth the $, but I do use it on my X5 a fair bit for voice dialing and switching between audio sources etc.

- I think the sport wheel does away without the steering wheel controls for the TFT screen in the instrument cluster ie the scroll wheel and click button and puts them on a control stalk instead. Also I don't think it is heated. Am I wrong about this???

- I think there is a chance the insulated windshield might impact radar detector/ez pass; however, I rarely use easy pass (I'll stick my arm out the window if needed ) and I'll probably get a remote detector Installed

- you can get the heated windshield w/o insulated glass. That may not be as much of an interference issue. I'm hoping it will work as well as I've seen it work on the range rover and help prevent ice build up

well, I might dump the PDCC and PVT. Not sure if it will make a difference to me! That makes up for the 21 inch rims. I've already checked out tire prices on 20's vs 21's and no difference. Also no voice control for me. Burmester is a must! I am waiting on the color availability for the ice blue metallic. If not it will be jet black on black for me. The insulated glass will support an e-z pass and radar. Can't wait to see yours and hear about how wonderful it is! I am going to wait until September to order mine.

Not to try and persuade you to spend more $$ or anything , but a review out of Motor Trend (for whatever that is worth) speaks highly of PTV as do the folks over at Inside Line

Not sure how much of it is real vs hype.

I know, I saw that. Oh well, not much price difference. I am sure it will help with resale! My original build price was about 122k, that's with the goodies. Guess, I'll keep it spec'd as is.
