Flat Tire

Was headed out to church this morn. The front drivers tire was really low. My first thought was got a screw in my tire. I own a sheet metal company we had just moved and had been doing lots of retrofit to the building.

Got back home from church put air in tire and checked for the damage. Have been unable to locate the screw, nail or any damage or leak. Tire has lost boy three pounds of air after we went to dinner 7 hours later.

Can this be from the fittings or anything to do with tire pressure monitoring??

Or maybe I just haven't located the hole in the tire

Thankfully, you didn't blow a tire while driving! Did you TPMS come on and give you a warning?

gammaman is infamous around these parts
In order to check the valve stem, which would include the TPMS, drip some dish soap on it, or better yet soap that your kids use to blow bubbles with. You'll be able to see if it's leaking.

Most likely haven't found the hole. Similiar thing happened to my wifes car, slow leak over night couldn't see anything in the tire, took it in and found a crack in the rim. Many pot holes in your neck of the woods??

Yes, in New Hampshire we have our share of pot holes and frost heaves. Most of my flats, however, are from nail punctures or some other buried treasure.

No we noticed when we came out to get in car. But when I did crank the car the warning light was on.

No Pot holes hit. Took to dealer he couldn't find any damage. did notice that the core of the metal stem valve was loose. He tighten told me to take home if its flat tomw. He will break tire down and look for leak more through. They tested with soapy water etc couldn't find leak.

Who knows Gremlins letting air out of tire

Maybe you need some paranormal investigators????

The TPMS is so delicate. I have added some air to the 997 and if I didn't have the rears at 42PSI, that damn light came on and stayed on! They are happily running at 39 now and no warning lights. Tell your wife to please be careful!

If it's losing air that fast the leak must be visible. The dealer needs to immerse the tire & wheel in a water bath.
