Black or Jet Black Metallic

Last piece of the puzzle. Is the Jet Black Metallic actually a shiny Black or Blueish Shiny Black?

I have heard from many that Jet Black Metallic might be easier to maintain long term. Thanks for the input. Its so hard to tell in the pictures.

Nothing comes close to solid black when it comes to depth, warmth and clarity. But there is a price to pay for that. It will show every little pollen, orad dust and swirl mark. There is no substitute to black but you should allocate time for regular hand-washing (auto car washes strict no no), polishing and waxing. My biggest fear was that I would be spending more time correcting blemishes (swirl marks) than driving it. Hence went with Jet black metallic instead which would certainly be a lot more forgiving and does tend to hide imperfections compared to solid black. I convinced my wife who really wanted something looking pure black to go with JBM... hence sight unseen we went with JBM. She will kill me if she knows that there if a bluish hue to the black. I already disappointed her once with the astro black (which has a bluish hue) on her MINI. Please tell me that there is more black than the blue. to the JBM.

The Jet Black Metallic is a shiny black. No bluish tint.

Some of the stock photos have a blueish / purple-ish looking color which i think is jet black metallic..it might be the reflection of the sky or just the rendering but I like it

Ok-comp, it's hard to tell from pics as u well know. Magnetic K, I owe you big time for giving me a good nights sleep. I'm already stressed out with the heated windshield that I ordered. Don't need any blue to mess up the black in the JBM. Thank you once again.

Here is another picture of the Jet Black Metallic Cayenne. It is a deep black, but a real pain to keep clean. Every scratch shows up. Just spent the entire weekend Zaino-ing the Cayenne.

It is next to a Midnight Blue Metallic Cayman. The Midnight Blue is a dark blue, which appears black with a bluish tinge at night.

It is difficult to depict the true colors in a photograph. Obviously, the colors are best viewed in person.

Magnetic, any shade of black will show imperfections .. solid black will show it that much more than any metallic shade of black. Zaino is a great choice BTW. Thank you for the input. If you care how your car looks but are not willing to allocate time detailing it (yourself or professionally) don't go with solid black. But I must say there is nothing like solid black.

Our wives must know each other. My wife is driving me nuts about the potential blueish hue in the JBM and I am freaking. However she is not the one obsessing over keeping it clean, that unfortunately, will be my role. Right now my order is JBM and someone on the forum said it looks dark dark metallic blue and I freaked. Problem is you see the black in the show room and it looks like magic; the minute you drive it outside for a day or two its crap.

Fearing my weekends will be spent waxing and hand washing - not to mention the salt and ding potential here in the city, I am almost convinced to go Silver, Umber, or White.

Thanks so much for the pics - my fears exactly. I really don't have that kind of patience right now.

The colour choices are keeping me up - honestly its ridiculous.

Options:

1) JBM with Umber/Cream
2( Black with Umber/Cream
2) White with Luxor Biege (will Umber/Cream go?)
3) Umber Metallic with Umber/Cream

Guess life is interesting when you can't even make your mind up on a colour! I might just end up sticking to JBM with Umber/Cream; it will be tons of work but atleast I know how it looks in person.

jet black metallic is black with blue metallic flakes. 90% of the time it looks black, but under bright sunlight it looks slight dark blue/purple. I found a picture that looks like what I am talking about. It's been cloudy here or else I would go out and take a picture for you.

Jet Black

Jet Black is shiny and also deep. The previous Basalt Black was not so shiny. Jet Black is almost like normal black but much richer looking & surely swirl marks will not show as much!
