bad light

I have been undertaking this led replacement in my 04 cayenne tt and noticed that the middle light located in that cluster of 3 in the front by the home link buttons does not work. I have checked it with opening the door and that accompaning switches. The passenger and Driver lights next to it work fine but getting nothing out of that middle light with a normal bulb or led. Is there a fuse that goes specific for that light or a way to test if it is getting power?

i don't think its a bad light, i had the same problem. I had to turn the bulbs 180 degrees and reinsert it in. Might be + and - issues. Also if you hit the dim functions on that console, they bulbs will stop working for 5 to 10 minutes until it resets for some odd reason. so as long as you don't hit the dim functions, you should be okay.

ROX: Those LEDs make your interior look AMAZING!! I think this would be a great conversion for the DIYer and mainly for the black and grey interiors. Mine has the peanut butter interior and I really like the way the halogens look. I feel like if I changed them to LEDs, it wouldn't look right and it would take away the warmth of the interior environment.

Thanks man. Why don't you buy 2- 4 bulbs for the main front seat overhead and try it out. Its the easiest to replace and you will be in for the price of a meal. The front overhead casts enough light to give you a good idea of what the cabin would ultimately look like. Worst case, you blew $20. Best case, wicked cheap update to your C.

ONLY 19 INTERIOR BULBS WERE FOUND IN MY 957 CTT (NOT INCLUDE 4 * RED REFLECTORS ON THE DOOR & 4 * DOOR TRIM BULBS)
Is that because my car is china spec ? I know for most of car sold in the states, there are orange reflectors on the sides of the front bumper. Never know interior bulb quantity is different too. lol

4 – lower door panel (the downlights that shine on the pavement when the door is open).
2 – Front foot well
1 – Center console (this is interesting, we call it "arm rest" in Australia. My understand is "centre console" is the surface for instrumentation(air-con outlet) and controls(audio/video/nav). I was looking around the PCM, did not find any lighting beside it)
1 – Glove Box
3 – Front overhead light
2 – Rear foot wells (under front seats)
2 – Rear map lights (ceiling above the doors)
2 – Cargo area ceiling (1 bulb)
2 – Rear hatch (facing cargo area)
2 – Rear hatch (facing back when the hatch is open (1 bulb, the red reflector)

this is a known problem with our 955's unfortunately

apparently this was a common problem with the 04-06 models where the contacts would burn out in the switch therefore no power would go to the middle bulb. I searched and searched and came across this fix which helped a lot:

http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...09#entry129309

The dealership wanted $150 dollars for a new unit to fix the problem, so i decided to do this fix instead and it worked just fine!

Hope that helps

Excellent thread, thanks. Your link is to bulbs direct from China...are any of the domestic T10 bulbs on Ebay OK? For example:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-WHITE-2X...item2317cc5f27

Also, which bulbs are used for fog lights? The stock ones are very yellow compared to the HID headlight.

Thanks!

Also, do the foot lights still dim to your desired brightness?
Do you know what is the bulb type for the license plate?

Also, I discovered that my cargo area dome light is not of type T10, it looks something like this, http://www.streetperformance.com/par...063110690.html

But I wasn't sure if this is the right part for 2008 CTT, could someone share some experience?

I found this website that is pretty useful. It has light bulb types for all porsche models
http://www.modifiedlife.com/2009-por...-size-diagram/

Looks like 6411 is the type of bulb that I could need to get for the cargo dome light.
