Unhappy i hope the rim guy is not doin' anything wrong ...

hi, everyone !! i have a 2008 cayenne base with 17" rims originally, just put up a set of new rim and tires today (waitted for almost 2 weeks) . lexani LX10, 20"X 8.5 , and perili p-zero 275/40/20, 106y, XL load. everything seens ok otherwise i wouldn't put them on. the tire guy just sayin' no problem those are good. just the hubring ( hard plastic shell like) seens so weak ( these hubrings are the ones the rim guy use for fitments) they put one on the hub and the rims center hole fits onto the hub perfectly. the question is will i have any problems with these platic hubrings in a short period ? i felt like these hubrings just the sales ppls gimmick before u hand them the cash and then u ride the lovely wheels for a week it crashes down. or if there's any rim and tire problems above i've mentioned ? thanx guys !!! need ur knowledges and experiences !!

Hub-centric is more desirable as its direct fit, but that hard plastic ring is typically Nylon and very tough to break (especially when its edge to edge with the rim and hub). I would worry if your auto-crossing, but if your driving like a human, I would not sweat it. I would expect some purists to possibly disagree, but in a former life, I was in the biz and sold plenty of rims with HC rings - no issues.

So now the important ??? - Any Pics????

If you check TireRack, most brands recommend 9" - 10" wheel width. If you google " 275 on 8.5" rims" you will find lots of people who are using 8.5's. Ultimately, you have to decide if you want to follow the manufacturer or the interwebs experience.

Here are some links to your exact same ?/ keep in mind Outside Diameter (18, 19, 20") is not relevant to the question, so these links are relevant even though you are on 20"

Looks good.

I think Roxboxxx gave you accurate information. However, I know I have ordered aluminum hub centric rings to replace nylons with for piece of mind.

The aluminum rings are much harder to come by and not in all size combinations.

So unless it is really bothering you, I would leave it alone.
