Intake mod worth it?

I have a 2004 Cayenne Turbo and will be ordering the secondary bypass next week and wanted to hear if any of you had any gains or better pedal feel with the intake?

I know with my previous vehicles the intakes that come from factory are plenty good.

Thanks for the input!

I do not own a Turbo but I do have a Supercharged AMG in which the intake did have some restrictions in it. I upgraded to a Code3 intake which keeps the intake baffles in place with upgraded K&N's and a filter on the "Y" splitter closer to the throttle body. I noticed a huge difference in the response. More air to a Turbo charged engine is always a good gain and no matter what kind of car there is always restrictions to stock parts when comparing to upgraded mods that have been engineered and tested by the correct people. Just my 2 cents.

YES !

but realistically, a set of high-flow replacement filters would probably give you the same power increase. But you miss out on the looks and sounds that the intakes provide, IMO. but everybody has their own preference.

Since you are going that far (intakes and exhaust) get the EVOMS 540 software and she'll never drive the same! She becomes a Beast.

And if you back off the throttle (fat chance) you will see MPG gains in line with your 25% gains in HP/TQ.

Much more sporty ride.

I already have an EPL tune

If the intake is going to give me just sound, I dont think its worth it to be honest.
I was hoping id get a bit more pedal feel and low end pep.

I am not familiar with EPL. My EVOMS tune adjusts. I get far more low end and power with the intakes with an IPD plenum and secondary by-pass pipes.

A tune is most effective when combined with other mods for example intake and exhaust mods. You will need a re-tune if you will be adding the intake so it can adjust air/fuel ratios accordingly.

Sweet, thanks!

Now how about this Plenum business?

Any gains?

Thanks Tony!

I didn't really notice the 30hp as advertised with the plenum in my CTTS, but it did help with drivability as the car felt smoother. I have every bolt on in my turbo S and a recent EPL tune. I would suggest to stick with 2nd cat delete pipes, new diverter valves and drop in bmc filters with a good tune and you will be happy.
