May need battery

Went on vacation for a week and a half. After returning, the CTT was dead (engine did not want to turn over), but waited a bit, turned everything else off and it did start. Drive for a while and it seemed OK. About week later (today), tried start again and this time nothing. Won't turn over. Appears as discharged battery.

My questions are:

1. Is the under seat batt, the main batt for starting (replacing)?
2. Where is other batt?
3. Would it be wiser to try trickle charge it before determine it is bad? Would need to buy charger first though.
4. What is a decent replacement batt, and from where, so I don't spend 300 bucks for it?

Overall, looking for advice on plan of action on this (to me appears replace it, butt wanted second opinion from you fine folks).

Thanks

Just replaced mine under the driver's seat with an Autozone 8 yr battery. It was about $130. I only have the one battery.

Which one did you get from autozone? Platinum, gold or regular duralast. The gold is the one with 8 yr warranty plhs tax.

glock439 is infamous around these parts
I paid $180 for a factory one at a dealership in Massachusetts. The autozone battery is smaller. Goodluck

I've used Optimas a lot and have come to this conclusion.

For an application that needs tip over protection (Jeep or Racecar) or that neds the fast recovery ability (Jeep with a winch) it is a great battery. For all other normal car uses it is simply too expensive and gives no real benefit. My Optimas have not lasted any longer, in fact they all died fiaster than normal batteries. They have not stayed charged longer when a vehicle sits.

They do change to full capacity faster which is great for a vehicle running a heavy electrical drain item like an electric winch. Or in an application where you need to mount it upside down, on its side, or where it may end up in those positions.

Otherwise for a normal factory battery replacement it's squally a BIG savings to keep a stock type unit.

Ditto here. Be sure to get the 10 mm triple square bit (sears) for the seat bolts to make you life easy. Took about 45 min beginning to end

Got it replaced yesterday.
Bought the Autozone Gold series batt.
Cost including tax and after core replce was just around $150.
Easy to replace. Another member wrote a good battery replace thread HERE.

Some additional observations:
- after replace of battery, got a host of errors including lights on cluster.
- Used Duramatric to clear all errors.
- Since some error lights on cluster persisted after clear (stayed on), I drove the car, and as soon as I started driving, errors got cleared up.

Thanks. All is fine now.
