Leistung 2nd Cat Bypass & SR1 Modified Exhaust - Vid/Sound Comparisons

Over the last couple days I was busy putting in the Leistung secondary cat bypass pipes, as well as the SR1 exhaust. The SR1 exhaust has been modified per my input by Rob, so if you are ordering the typical stock design, it will not sound just like this one does. I made some pics of this exhaust in another thread, showing dimensions, and if you are interested, I can give you more details so that you can communicate with Rob about exactly what you want.

This thread will have the different videos that I wanted to shoot to make a good side by side comparison of the resulting sound modification.
I will be uploading these as I happen to make them, so if you are interested, check back and look at the initial post, I will be editing to add other videos as I go. I started with near stock 05 CTT, only having KN Filters installed. Comparisons were made against that setup.

I will have:

KN filter / KN+2nd cat / KN+2nd CAT+SR1 - IDLING - INSIDE sound
KN filter / KN+2nd cat / KN+2nd CAT+SR1 - IDLING - OUTSIDE sound
KN filter / KN+2nd cat / KN+2nd CAT+SR1 - NORMAL DRIVING - INSIDE sound
KN filter / KN+2nd cat / KN+2nd CAT+SR1 - NORMAL DRIVING - OUTSIDE sound
KN filter / KN+2nd cat / KN+2nd CAT+SR1 - HARD ACCELERATION - INSIDE sound
KN filter / KN+2nd cat / KN+2nd CAT+SR1 - HARD ACCELERATION - OUTSIDE sound

Hope that if you are considering the Leistung products, this will help you make up your mind. IMO, I am sooo glad I did this.

Here we go - Here are the vids:

DONE

done all the vids now. Hope it provides a decent comparison to those looking into the parts as possibilities for upgrades.

Let me know what you think, if this customized SR1 exhaust was worth it in your view.

you mean the videos did not do a good job showing the sound? If not, I tried and I guess failed.
Was hoping that it would give others ability to compare before they make up their mind.

Yeah. Noticed the demoener of the car changed as soon as i started it. The typical sr1 is longer and taller and has more Buffer material. If you want similar results, will be better to call him and discuss exactly what you are after. He sveemed very accomodating. As long as you are ok with longer delivery time, you will be ok. He manufactures each exhaust as they are ordered, which is reason for longer wait time (talking about 2-3 weeks to ship). I may post some more pics if i have any. Well see.

I have a regular SR1 with primary downpipes and EVOMS air intake on an 08 CTT and I think yours sounds better than mine. Great job!!!

Thanks. Appreciate that you are liking it....definitely wanted something that sounds like it has ***** behind it.
Do you think it sounds more like a truck or an exotic car? I was not trying to go for truck sound, but rather for a high cylinder, high power exotic type of car.

To me, it sounds like the Mansory exhaust. It's high dollar and the sound I wanted for my CTT, but I'm on a budget.

After you said that, I looked up sound clips if that setup and you're right, it does sound like that very much. Thanks for the info. WOW.

I have to admit that it sounds more like a truck exhaust. I wonder if you need to run an x-pipe like RM to get that smooth and exotic sound? His is the best sounding Cayenne that I've heard, followed closely by Tubi Style exhausts.

I see your point, and initially I was thinking similar, after initial start up, etc, but then started looking through the web, looking for various sounds of Porsche cars to see how that compares. It struck me how many had the same gurgling sound when idling. In that respect, they seem very similar.

On the other hand, if comparing to other exotics like lambo/ferrari/other supercars when they are revved up, their sound is deep but of a higher repeating frequency, meaning that to me it appeared that their sound seemed partly to stem from the fact that they are naturally higher revving. I tried to put my car into the higher rev range a few times and the exhaust started giving that same note, not so gurgly but deep, cyclical but powerful sound.

So I think, I am getting the deep low end of Porsche sound, and during reved up operation, coming somewhat close to a sports car sound, however still distinct.

Back to your question, what would putting an x in front of the muffler do for the sound? let me know if you have real experience with this. I may try just for kicks to see, but want more info.
Anyone else feel like experimenting with my car?

I want honest feedback, as it will only improve my car. Thanks for yours.
