Exhaust hack/mod?

I thought I saw a thread at one time about drilling the stock muffler for a louder exhaust note. However, when I search, all I see is stuff for 996TTs.

Has anyone done a Cayenne Turbo muffler hack and can share aome info?

I believe most simply remove the secondary cats on the Cayenne and Cayenne Turbo.

Agreed.

On that note, I don't know why the secondary cat delete pipes are so expensive. $600 for maybe 4 total feet of piping with only two total flanges? Get real. They don't even have bungs or that many/sharp bends.

No kidding...that is why when doing this mod, I took it to my local exhaust shop and they simply replaced the secondary cats with straight pipe. Easy, done that day, welds > bolts, and WAY less expensive.

you can run a bypass from the inlet to the outlet/tips smaller that the stock sized pipe of course, Or you can remove the tip and slide in some flexible exhaust tubing then put the tip back on. price wise these are cheap but for cleaner and more respectable it may be better to got aftermarket

Sounds like a good idea. Maybe I will try that.

It was $600 for my local exhaust shop to install 2 magnaflow mufflers and make cat bypass pipes. Compared to the nearly 600 for just the bypass pipes, this was a steal.

I do not remember the part number, but I went with a center/center, oval shaped, 14" long. The 18" will not fit. The CS has 2.25" exhaust tubing and the CTT has 2.5".

Thanks, I will have a look at the parts and when I find the right one I will post the part number.

Edit:

Do you know the width of the oval?

I went with a 4 x 9 but the 5 x 8 should also fit, there is plenty of room where the stock muffler sat.

Brilliant thanks,

These are the part numbers: 11216 or 14316 (stainless / polished) € 62,27/ € 82,9, considerably less than the existing after-market system currently on offer. Granted you will have to get some tubing and be a dab hand with the welding, but you get a system that potentially is better than the rest.
