Cayenne shaked in the highway

wow it was the first time I encountered this FULL shake like an earthquake on my car, above 70mph at HEAVY rain, it was scary as hell, the whole car vibrated, I think it came from my two front wheels

Any clues guys? I have the 22x9.5 all round with Michelin Diamaris, Techart springs

Next time you clean your car, make sure you dry off the insides of your wheels. It's a known problem with these wheels.

Sometimes the Cayennes have "the shakes" at around 65-80 mph . . . .it happens to me often when i have my 22's on . . . .which i had balanced twice and checked for any structural problems.......when i mentioned it to a dealer he said it happens with all Cayenne's and they have no idea why . . . .if it only happened this once it was probably the rain . . .but i've been feeling a wheel shimmy (shake) for a while now . . .hopefully the 05 wont have this problem!!!

BTW . . . .the 05 was sopposed to be done this weekend but i had a few more goodies added while its at the stereo shop......

Custom Backup Camera, which displays in the color CTurbo instument panel screen (not NAV)
2 6.5 inch monitors in the headrests
Zapco 60.1 Amp--powering new Merell (sp) competition front door speakers--existing Focals are moved to back doors....IPOD wire and some very dark window tint! Im pretty sure thats all but i will have pics up either friday or saturday!!!

yes I think its the water inside the inner lip, I remember someone with 996 said the same thing, and he felt like it was a flat tire

Yep, water inside the inner lip on the HRE sounds like the culprit. A known fault with the rims. Man, it poured this weekend! I was crawling in my car everywhere, no traction at all.

I AGREE ! In fact, HRE make such a waring mandatory on certain models of their wheels.

Today I experienced the same thing with my 22" HRE's. It started shaking above 70mph, just like Deetz described it.
